The New American Theater is a great place for quality entertainment. The actors are always seasoned and are wonderfully amusing. During the intermission, they served sweet treats, drinks, and wine an made the atmosphere so inviting! I felt like I knew everyone in the room because the staff was so friendly and set a great tenor. After the show was over, they had a time of question and answer where the audience was allowed to question the actors. It was a great idea, and it really made the audience feel like they were a part of the show. Great entertainment for the price!

We love going here. We love theater, but going to chicago can be quite expensive and it's an hour away. It's so convenient to go downtown and then grab a bite to eat here in town as well. Tickets are very reasonable and the performance is always top notch. They have a website too, I believe so you can check out what they are playing. Check it out!

Well this theatre is no longer in the heyday of its Sullivan years, but it's still a respectable place to go to enjoy live theatre in Rockford, and it uses local actors, something you won't find at the traveling productions of the Coronodo. The downtown location seems to keep that part of the city alive. The plays are not as interesting as they once were, but it would be tragic to lose something that means so much to Rockford theatre goers.

This is actually GOOD live theater in ROCKFORD! I lived in Orlando, FL for awhile and got used to very good community theater (most of the Disney hopefuls did community theater), so when we moved here I knew I was in for disappointment, not so. New American's quality is wonderful and the price is great as well. I highly recommend going to their Christmas presentations, gets you in the holiday spirit and makes a great gift!
