I have fond memories of seeing the band ZZ Top here years ago. It reminded me of the UIC Pavillion a little bit. Other reviewers are saying it's not what it once was, but who is:) Maybe some rehabbing would help. I look forward to going back here for another concert. I'm glad to hear that alot of events including arena football are being played here. Keep this place rockin' and the big name bands will continue to play here, otherwise they will build a giant mexa stadium and name it after a large corporation. Is that good or bad? You decide if that's what Rockford needs.

There are multiple events that are held at the Rockford Metro Center. There's the Rockford Ice Hogs hockey team, the Rockford Lightning CBA basketball team, and soon to be a UIF indoor football league team. I personally enjoy going to Ice Hog games, as live hockey is a great experience and the prices were very fair. The stadium holds quite a few people, around 10,000 depending on the event. It also often hosts WWE wrestling events. If you're looking for entertainment, there's a good chance you'll find something exciting at the Metro Center.

When the Metro Center first arrived, Rockford couldn't have been more thrilled. Finally downtown had its own venue to host such acts as the Rolling Stones. Today, it is a sad shadow of those early days, although they keep trying to pump new life into the center, most recently with the addition of arena football. It was always in a less than desirable location, and time has not done it any favors.
