We have been taking our mastiffs to Scatter Creek for the last 4 yrs and have found them to be very helpful and understanding. What we really liked is that they do take a holistic approach to care. The previous negative post might have better off to do a little research and learned that a fat/overweight bitch is much tougher to spay than a bitch that is the proper weight. That was the reason for the "raw" diet suggestion. I highly recommend Scatter Creek Animal Clinic along with Dr. Sutherland and Dr. Thomas.

We started at Scatter Creek when we moved to the area because of all the great reviews. We have a lab, a cattle dog, and a cat. All of our pets are well cared for when they go, and treated with respect. Dr. Thomas is great at letting me know what is going on at every stage of the exam. I've never had a vet show me the temp reading on a thermometer before! They're also really big in to preventative, overall health to reduce 'crisis care.' I adore this place, am glad that they have very reasonable prices, and would recommend them highly!

Last fall, I scheduled a regular spay with Scatter Creek Animal Clinic in Rochester. It was all set up for me to go in, fill out some papers, drop off my dog, and pick her up the next day. What I encountered was a salesman, not a veterinarian, and certainly not a man I would trust with my animals health. He refused to do the surgery because he claimed my dog needed to be on a 'special' diet consisting of high priced raw meat, which of course, I could buy directly from him. (He made sure I had a whole list of available options without a guaranteed price). I guess meat changes prices like oil? He said that my dog needed to lose 5 lbs on this special meat diet, that he insisted I needed to salt the meat with organic sea salt! He then, charged me $35 for his sales pitch. Obviously, I found another vet. If you are vet searching, Ford's Prairie on Old 99 closer to Centralia is ok. They aren't the best, but compared to Scatter Creek... I'll take Ford's any day. For serious pet issues and trauma, I Highly Recommend the Tacoma Animal Hospital on 56th. Great Care! Great Surgeons! Avoid Scatter Creek!
