Parkleigh is a great store to escape to for a while. They have so many different products and everything is upscale and modern. Its not just another gift store. The coffe/tea section is great, and they offer free samples. They have a great selection of decafs, and the aromas in the coffee area are wonderful. I enjoy the candy bar, the turtles are delicious almost sinful! There is not a time I have been in the store where I havent bought anything. There is something for everyone here! I reccommend it to anyone!

Arena's is the premier florist/decorator/gift shop in the Rochester area. The first thing I would do if I hit the Mega Millions jackpot would be to hire the design team to redecorate my new house and send flowers weekly to all my friends and family. They decorate the restaurant 2Vine and it's devine! I could spend hours (and $thousands$) in this store and still come back for more. It is a one of a kind experience. When you get an Arena's delivery, you know you're getting something so extraordinary! This is such a beautiful store, it adds up to a real special shopping experience that you should not miss!

Their array of merchandise includes wood, pottery, furniture, jewelry and blown glass. It's a great store to pick up Christmas gifts; you will find a good selection at a broad price range. The shop will wrap the gift package for you in their distinctive brown paper box and bag.

I have tried all the local candy shops in Rochester & Buffalo (Batavia too). They have BY FAR the best selection of molds, bark, melt-a ways, dipped fruits (fresh fruit in season). Not to mention hard candy,gummies,& licorice...& thier Marshmallows...yummy.
The owners & staff are friendly & know their stuff. They use Belgiun chocolate, I have never had better DARK chocolate anywhere.
They get VERY busy at the Holidays, so plan to shop early. Even when the lines are long, they are very organized and take care of everyone efficiently.
* * * * *
PROS: They have been doing it right for 60 years!
CONS: No parking - but there is lot across the street.

I just had a christmas themed wedding last weekend and Salmon decorated the church and reception site. Kevin at Salmon did an amazing job decorating for the holiday theme. My bouquet was absolutely stunning. Kevin used roses, holly and jewels to give it a winter wonderland feel. I received many compliments on my bouquet. The centerpieces for the reception were equally beautiful. Kevin had the idea to use glass globes and fill them with ornaments and roses and greenery and those centerpieces could be given as gifts in keeping with our holiday theme. People were so pleased to receive these elegant, lovely centerpieces.
The prices at Salmon are also excellent. I know people who have paid more for other local florists and have been disappointed. I would highly recommend them for wedding flowers.

If you're ever on Park Ave., you have to stop at this delicious bakery. They offer all the usuals--pastries, treats, cakes, and wonderful bread. Come in for a sample, but you won't leave without buying! They have healthy options too. Make a tour of Park Ave, and try the bakery, Stever's chocolates, Eleventh HOur giftshop, and Parkleigh.

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE ARENA'S!! I am a floral designer in Boston, but my family lives in Rochester, so when I need to send my mom flowers, I'm a pretty picky customer. I need a florist who will take the kind of care with my order that I would if I could do it myself, and Arena's has always been perfect. They have great, unusual blooms, and the arrangements are always stylish, fabulous, and have a little surprise--which I love. Last time I ordered from them they send a lovely little cylinder vase of parrot tulips, two tone roses, sumatra lilies and get this--raspberry vines! Their designers are absolutely top notch. Take it from a girl who knows--I won't order from anyone else in Rochester.
Pros: The freshest flowers, greatest selection, and artfully arranged. Perfect.

I love this store. Lots of cute things, perfect for housewarming gifts, mothers day or someone birthday. This is my all time favorite store in Rochester NY!! I try to go at least once a month, to see all the new stuff. They have a great selection of cards, great selection of those Daniel Doke signs that are very popular.
