Aside from the amazing staff, huge selection of beer, and relaxed fun
atmosphere, the food is great. Best pizza in rochester, and maybe upstate NY.
The bartenders are awesome, especially Sarah. Ok, ill admit i have a little bit
of a crush, but how could any guy not?!
For an amazing time with friends, a loyal local crowd and great drinks/food
all for an affordable price, this is the bar to be at every night of the week.

Lux Lounge is one of the best bars in Rochester. It is low key, darkish, has a great fireplace outside, a red-black theme, and lots of interesting people. Lots of games to play also. No problem with simply sitting and playing cards. It is the antithesis of a sports bar (and it says as much on its website lux666 dot com).
Great place to hang out, and pretty decently priced beers (not to mention $3.00 for a Pabst and a well shot).
Pros: Attitude of the customers

I agree that this is not where you want dinner, but they do have appetizer type foods and drinks. We have come here as an after dinner treat and enjoyed it. You don't want to sit near the stage because they WILL pick on you. I was glad that we were unable to sit nearer to the front our first time there when I realised that. I think that if you live in the Rochester area, you ought to give this place a shot.

Mex has fantastic Margaritas, and only $4 each! They have many frozen versions, including peach, strawberry, and regular Margaritas. The bartenders are hilarious. They are a show all of their own. They are located right next to the Blue Room, which is not nearly as much fun. Mex also has a full Mexican food menu. The nachos are fantastic, and plenty to feed your friends! They also have a small outdoor porch area, which is nice in the summer. This is a great happy hour hangout. It gets pretty crowded later at night.
Make sure you watch the Virgin Mary at the bar light up when the phone rings! Also the mural on the wall as you come in was painted by a local artist. Nice atmosphere!

Even the smell of this food is delicious, better than you would expect for bar food! Their wings are delicious! Parking is not the best but it is worth looking for a spot. We get take out, but it looks like they have a pretty good selection of beers there as well.

Yes, it's odd that a vegetarian would be reviewing a BBQ place. What one thinks of when you say BBQ, is the meat stuffs that makes my stomach roll and heave.. But Sticky Lips has changed this for me...they have a full vegetarian menu. Not a huge selection, but it's nice to be able to eat with your friends without interrogating the waitstaff and cooks. I had the BBQ Tofu roast with french fries and mac salad with cornbread. It was heavenly. Their BBQ sauce is great and the tofu was firm, not jiggly. My dh says that he didn't want it, though, because the smell of our friends' food, though.

Desperate time calls for desperate measures. Visiting a restaurant in a strip mall can be surprisingly rewarding, or a bit concerning. After looking at houses all afternoon, I desperately needed to do two things: visit a restroom and eat. The SO drove by Otter Lodge, and we both decided it would be better to flip around and eat before I got insanely cranky.
Walking in, the Otter Lodge looked like your normal neighborhood bar. Not nasty, but not Mr. Clean. My first stop was straight to the restroom. I am always concerned when the public places are not the spiffiest. It makes me not want to see the kitchen, at all. The restrooms had a slightly funky sewer smell, but I have been in worse places.
The upside – the beer was cold and they had a varied selection. I grabbed a Sam ($3.50) and the SO grabbed a Newcastle ($4.00). The menu contained the regular bar fare which was exactly what I was in the mood for. I ordered a mushroom burger ($6.75), medium with no lettuce or tomato and a side of mac salad. The SO ordered a philly cheese steak sandwich. ($7.95) I have made it my quest to actually find a restaurant that can cook a medium burger. Medium does NOT mean medium well. If you are one of those restaurants that believe for health reasons you have to overcook the meat – just let me know. I will order something else. Strange things happen when you are a vegetarian for 7 years and go back to eating meat. Eating it well done is just not right. But I digress.
My mushroom burger came medium well including the tomato and lettuce. Those items are easily removable I admit, but I specifically asked for it to be excluded. Overall, the burger was juicy for the temperature cooked at and the mac salad was pretty good loaded up with pepper. The SO enjoyed the philly cheese steak and it was better than average.
The service from the bartender was friendly and prompt, but I have to say this would not be a local bar I would drive across town for. There has to be another bar that offers a bit more than mediocre.

I love to torture myself with Buffalo Wild Wings hottest wings. One problem. I have never slept through the night after an order of them. Your stomach rots after you eat them. When you pinch a loaf, your bumm will be on fire and you might shed a tear. It will be hard for you to walk or sit. Maybe a cold shower would help.
Pros: Great wings
Cons: Burning sensation in fanny hole.
