This restaurant does make you feel like you are eating healthy. It's a BIG improvement on Subway. However, the lines are long at peak hours. Another great sandwich shop in Riverside is On The Corner Sandwich Shop in Woodcrest. The personnel there is friendlier than Simple Simon's.

I go here if I'm in the mood for a great sandwich and I've got a lot of time. The ingredients are fresh and you can tell. It feels like you are eating healthy, even if you're not. They definitely have their own vibe; earthy, friendly and hip. At lunch time this place is extremely busy. There is a long line and it can be hard to get a table. It also is pricey. Probably about $8 or so for a sandwich & side. But, at least the portions are large so you could always split with a friend. Definitely give it a try. Also, try Jammin' Breads in Canyon Crest. (I like it better--get the pasta salad!!!!!) PROS: Great, tasty, fresh ingrediants. CONS: Busy and not cheap.

This bakery is always packed with customers. They offer items for all. Fresh baked everything. My favorite lunch is the Tuna plate with vegetables and fruit. All cut up daily and with a side of fresh sourdough bread(or bread of your choice). They have delicious little pastries, cheesacake and cookies. Fruit Tarts and other wonderful sandwiches. Fresh made hot soup is great when it gets a little chilly. The price is not cheap but well worth it for a good filling lunch. PROS: Everything is FRESH CONS: Closes early and sometimes can have a long line!
