Wasabi is a popular restaurant with great food, but it can get pretty busy during lunch hour and on weekends. The restaurant shares a building with two other businesses, and there is barely enough parking in the lot surrounding the building.
There are a lot of different dishes offered at Wasabi- I'd recommend any one of their 7 lunch boxes as well as their noodles. Their prices are rising, but they are still a good deal considering the quality of their food.

After driving around Bergen county, looking for a place to eat with a friend from high school, we stopped at this place in the middle of Suburbia White America. We went in, not knowing what to expect. Turns out, without an ounce of doubt, that it is one of the best Japanese places I have ever been to, from coast-to-coast. I would say that the quality and the taste of Wasabi is comparable to Sushi of Gari on the Eastside, and this neighborhood Japanese restaurant in the Village called Cotan. My favorite appetizer is the Agedashi Tofu, which is four pieces of lightly fried tofu, in a nice soup. For the entree, I have an eel cucumber roll, a salmon skin roll, a shrimp tempura roll, and a piece of inari sushi, all really really amazing. I also have a diet coke, and my bill comes out to 21 dollars. It's a shame that New Yorkers aren't accessible to a place this good, with prices this great in the city. Nonetheless, if you're sick of the pretentious New York restaurant scene, and waiting for a table, it's worth a good 40-minute drive (half the price of the city, twice as good). It's also a good place to stuff-up before spending your day shopping and hauling at Ikea.
Pros: always a table, always parking, always satisfying. LOVE IT
Cons: if good food is a con, then GOOD FOOD! no cons

My wife and I like Japanese food and every once in a while we pass by Wasabi Japanese Restaurant in Ridgewood, NJ. This place was also recommended to us so we decided to give it a try one day.
One thing you can't miss is how crowded this place always is. Sometimes you are lucky to be seated. This is a BYOB place so many people come with some alcohol in hand. It's not a big restaurant but cozy enough which adds to the atmosphere.
Upon looking at the menu, we were put in a dilemma of what to choose since there were many different items to pick from. There were many things to try and I was curious to see how they prepared certain dishes. We ate our food and left afterwards.
The staff was friendly and courteous. Parking is tight when it's crowded even though they have a parking lot. The street it resides on is a very busy one.
Wasabi is neither good or bad; it fills the need in the area for Japanese food, and is actually a popular place, but I guess we expected more. Maybe we came in with higher expectations than we should have but we weren't entirely satisfied when we left. I don't know if we'll go back to try it again but at least we know that a place like this exists.
PROS: Good atmosphere, variety of selections on the menu
CONS: Food is average at best
