This restaurant is an amazing find in a town overcrowded with boring, sub-par restaurants. The service is amazing and the food is exquisite. I dined there last year for Valentine's Day and then again last week to celebrate my father's birthday. Both visits were flawless. Our most recent visit was mid-week and the 6 of us chose to do the 5-course prix fixe dinner. Each one of us loved every course and for the price ($44.50pp), it was an unbelievable deal. Some of the favorites were the Lobster Bisque, Crabmeat Strudel, Seafood Crepe and Veal Stroganoff. When I was there last year, I had the Beef Wellington which still remains to be one of the most delicious meals I've had in a long time. If you love traditional French Cuisine, give Latour a try. I suggest going mid-week so that it's easy to get a table and you can enjoy the prix fixe dinner. Don't forget it's BYOB!
Pros: Prix Fixe Dinner, Reservations Accepted, BYOB
Cons: Small and Ambience needs work

Latour is a BYO on located on Ridgewood Avenue. It is an upscale French American restaurant. We ate here because we had heard that they had fantastic food. I probably ordered the wrong thing. I got soft shelled crab. It was not worth the frustration that I experienced trying to eat my meal! No dinner is worth that much effort! It is a classy restaurant, and perhaps I would give it another try one of these days if I run out of other restaurants to try :)

Latour offers fantastic food in an intimate setting with very personalized service. The restaurant has a prix fixe menu with a nice variety of seasonal choices, all freshly prepared by Chef Latour himself. The prix fixe menu includes 5 courses -- soup, salad, appetizer, entree and dessert. The portions are reasonable and not grossly large; they are enough to enjoy but not so much that you feel stuffed at the end of the meal. The lamb is an excellent choice, and the bittersweet chocolate cake is perfection.

There are a number of "Big Name" restaurants in the northern NJ area, but this one is a great hidden gem. The service was extremely good. The entire staff was very attentive, while giving us plenty of time to enjoy our conversation between the 5 course meal. The owner, Michael Latour, visitied our table to ensure our satisfaction. The food, service, and value far exceeded our expectations.
Pros: Value, Food/Presentation, Ambience
Cons: Parking

Considering the ratings this restaurant gets, it was a disgrace- - - in every way. We waited an hour, with a reservation, because (we believe) they gave away our table and had to scramble to find a place for us (by the kitchen). The service was, at best, amateurish. The food was ordinary. And, the attitude of the owner when we complained was confrontational. Instead of apologizing, he justified his lack of care. Instead of trying to keep customers, he was insulting. DON'T GO.
Cons: , Service, Attitude
