The food served at this cafe was surprisingly very exceptional. Their desserts and coffee were the best part. The atmosphere of the cafe also made the experience more memorable.

Hunan Villa is your typical Chinese take-out place, a statement that really speaks for itself. The menu is decidedly generic, but it really does the job if you're craving Chinese food. I actually think they may have closed down recently, but if they're still open, I suggest checking it out (it's next to the Warner movie theater).

It is a small place right out side town and there is plenty of space to park. The food is your average Japanese food. I was just disappointed when I ordered the fried ice cream. It was cool that they set it on fire but it was almost like just putting frosted flakes on top of the ice cream; not real fried ice cream.

Wild Noodles is a relatively new establishment off of the main street in Ridgewood. A franchise, Wild Noodles' niche is to offer noodle-based meals that cater to Italian, Asian, and American tastes.
Perhaps I should have been wary that the restaurant was empty during lunch hour. Inside, the decor is attractive and modern. There are plenty of tables and booths, and they are not crowded together. You move to the back of the restaurant to order if you plan to take out. The menu is separated into the categories I listed above. I selected an Italian choice of Lasagna in a Bowl. My husband tried an Asian dish--you can select Thai Rice, Mongolian, Bangkok Peanut, or Teriyaki Stir Fry Noodles.
The food was salty and yet bland at the same time. The portions are a decent size, but because of the unpleasant taste, we didn't want to eat much more than a little. There was a mass-produced feel to the whole event. The staff behind the counter prepares the food in almost an assembly-line style. It is created and stored in components--the meat is pre-cooked and then crumbled into the cooked noodles, for example. The whole melange was then heated.
The staff was friendly and courteous--it's not their fault the the franchise has this sort of cuisine. They worked very efficiently and the eatery was clean and neat. Yet the prices are not cheap and the food simply not to my taste.
PROS: Friendly staff, nice decor.
CONS: Pre-cooked taste.
