Baumgart's has a variety of Chinese style dishes and Japanese cuisine. I've ordered a bunch of different dishes from spicy chicken with rice to an island wrap (or something of the sort) with turkey and mango inside.
It is a dine-in restaurant, but the atmosphere feels very much relaxed. The service is a little slow, but the food is totally worth the wait.

The food here is great. And also, at lunch time you can get pretty good prices. Their spider roll is really good; they aren't like they fake spider rolls you get else where. The crabs are actually crunchy.

hamachibelly >>>> Coming from Los Angeles where sushi is remarkably good, I didn't really expect a small suburb in New Jersey to have such creative sushi or rolls.""""""""""""She/He does not only sound snotty but is also blind. Ridgewood has more restaurants in a 5 block radius then most places in LA. Kumo is really good. If your not satisfied there check another sushi restuarant. There is prob. like 10 in ridgewood total.

I lived and dined in Ridgewood for many years and Malee was a regular spot. The food was always fresh and quite tasty. Many of the dishes served were from the chef's personal cookbook. The place is always busy on weekend nights so try to get there early.
We love the food and still travel to Ridgewood from our home 80 miles away when we're in the mood.

My family used to order takeout from here often--they've been around for a while. They have many choices on their menu, but we've typically resolved ourselves to ordering lo mein and hot and sour soup, both of which are always delicious. Since I have a particular liking for Asian food, I recommend Bamboo House for anybody who's looking for fast, great-quality takeout.

I'm always on the lookout for a good Indian restaurant. This may sound weird but it really isn't since my parents were from India and Indian cusine has been a staple in my household. That's fine I totally appreciate Mela Indian Cusine in Ridgewood, NJ.
Because of my familiarity with Indian cusine, I know what tastes good and what's not right, at least I would like to think so. This has also helped when ordering food since I know exactly what I want. The speciality of this place is Tandoori, and it would be a crime to walk out of the restaurant without sampling one of the finer tastes of India. The portions may look small to you but believe me, they are more than satisfactory. The food is very rich and I can't imagine eating huge portions at all.
The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing, especially with sitar music playing in the background. This particular place once played host to Ravi Shankar, the most famous sitarist in India. If you can't sit doen for a meal, they are very happy to accomodate you to pick up your food.
The lunch is spectacular with an all-you-can eat buffett served everyday. The selections are plentiful and very filling.
I can't get enough of Mela and always have a craving to go back whenever I need an Indian food fix.
PROS: Great food and atmosphere
CONS: Parking in Ridgewood can be a hassle

Being from the Pacific Northwest in Canada, I have had more than a fair share of experience with Asian cuisine, and have been disappointed with what I have tried in New Jersey. Asian Grill changed that.
Not only do they serve a variety of Chinese food, they mix it up with some Hibachi-type dishes. This is very important as my son is a very picky eater, but he loves Asian Grill cuisine.
Located in Ridgewood, NJ one has to assume that it will be expensive; however, this is not the case. I can puchase enough for the three of us for around $30. One of the things I appreciate is their policy of No MSG in their food.
Even though I say it's a restaurant, it really isn't in the typical sense. They are a few tables for your dining pleasure but most of the business is done through take-out.
I'm glad Asian Grill is around to satisfy my Chinese tastes.
PROS: Price is great, food is terrific, satisfies the hunger pains
CONS: Not really a sit-down restaurant; still doesn't serve real chow mein
