This place is one of my favorite restaurants. They have the largest menu I have ever seen. There are literally hundreds of items on the menu. The pancakes are awesome; banana nut is my favorite. And the chocolate chip corn bread they give you is amazing.

It is right in the middle of town, across the street from the movie theater. It a bit expensive but there is good food. I like to come here especially for the mozzarella fries with gravy.

The four or five course tasting menu for dinner is a real treat. If you would like to save some money and have the VG experience try the three course tasting menu for lunch during the week. I think it is very well price at under $20.
Pros: Wonderful tasting menu
Cons: Can not think of any

One of the best Irish pubs in the area. There's nothing better on a cold wintry afternoon than finding a spot at the bar near the fireplace and warming up with a black-and-tan. The menu's got some great choices (amazing and cheap 1/2-lb. burgers!) and a few items that try to be too ambitious (crab cakes... er, no). Good service, friendly regulars and extraordinary jukebox selections. Parking lot's small but you can usually get away with parking at Whole Foods down the road.

Came upon a wonderful new find in Ridgewood recently. The town has been getting a bad rap for its long list of eateries with only a few stand outs, but Bazzini is a field leader. We had dinner(2) on a Friday without a reservation, we were warmly welcomed & seated at a choice table. The menu was creative and full of tempting choices which were clearly explained and described. Service was friendly & professional, adding a note of genuine hospitality. You felt like you went to a good friend's house for dinner. The food was excellent ang beautifully plated(and large portions as well) Apps are split onto individual plates for each diner to enjoy. The ambience was soothing and romantic, with lots of candles, terrific music and overall beautiful decor. We had a wonderful evening and have gone back many times and have always been thrilled. The owner is also the Chef & he is always around to greet, talk food & such and just make sure everyone is happy & and at home. One of the best anywhere in our opinion. Prices are moderate and very fairly priced for such a high level of food, size and presentation.
Pros: value and general feeling that everyone cares about you
Cons: Ridgewood is street parking and difficult at times

Wild Noodles is a relatively new establishment off of the main street in Ridgewood. A franchise, Wild Noodles' niche is to offer noodle-based meals that cater to Italian, Asian, and American tastes.
Perhaps I should have been wary that the restaurant was empty during lunch hour. Inside, the decor is attractive and modern. There are plenty of tables and booths, and they are not crowded together. You move to the back of the restaurant to order if you plan to take out. The menu is separated into the categories I listed above. I selected an Italian choice of Lasagna in a Bowl. My husband tried an Asian dish--you can select Thai Rice, Mongolian, Bangkok Peanut, or Teriyaki Stir Fry Noodles.
The food was salty and yet bland at the same time. The portions are a decent size, but because of the unpleasant taste, we didn't want to eat much more than a little. There was a mass-produced feel to the whole event. The staff behind the counter prepares the food in almost an assembly-line style. It is created and stored in components--the meat is pre-cooked and then crumbled into the cooked noodles, for example. The whole melange was then heated.
The staff was friendly and courteous--it's not their fault the the franchise has this sort of cuisine. They worked very efficiently and the eatery was clean and neat. Yet the prices are not cheap and the food simply not to my taste.
PROS: Friendly staff, nice decor.
CONS: Pre-cooked taste.
