The wait staff is very unresponsive and our steak was raw, and, finally, when we got the medium steak we ordered it was hardly competent. Not as we expected...to be honest, if you are looking for cuisine in Ridgefield, this is not the place to go, unless you would like to be ignored and finally upon receiving food, find it hardly worth the price. I will not be going back.

We were all but ignored by our waiter. He seemed more interested in a table of six. In a restaurant that professes a certain experience and food quality, I should not have to pour my own wine. We had a difficult time even ordering wine to go with our meal. Our starter came before we even got to order any wine. I had to flag someone down other than our waiter to order some wine. Our entire meal was lack luster. My starter of escargot was covered in a Phyllo dough that I could barely cut through. My husband??????s game bird was slightly overcooked making it chewy and was plated with a greasy phyllo roll. The evening was summed up in a cr????me brulee trio that all tasted the same.

Great classic French-American food with a higher price, but worth it. Fancy, romantic atmosphere (reservations needed) with great service and even better food, this is a great place to go for a special occasion- not just your average dinner. very clean, with decent sized portions and great menu. Would reccomend to anyone looking for something special.

Bernard's is a rare gem. I would put the food at this restaurant next to any top restaurant anywhere, in any major city. The chef has a wonderful way of pairing selections, with everything done to perfection. The wine list, it goes without saying, is also top notch. If you go on a summer night, sit outside. The only complaint I have about the restaurant is that it is a little dull on the eyes (interior). Nothing bad, just a tad dated. Service is spectacular, gracious, and refreshing in its sincerity. Great choice for a big night out.
