I had only been there once before, and actually loved the way Megan did my color; but was told she does not work there anymore. I really was only going for her. One day I needed a haircut, so I figured I would try ABSS for a hairdresser. I made an appt. and when I arrived, a woman came down the winding staircase to get me. She had a face as cold as ice and a very bitchy demeanor about her. When I realized that she was the person that was cutting my hair I felt like cancelling right then and there. She was not a jerk to me; I think this is her personality. I really think she has some serious mental illness, which I feel bad about, but maybe she should not deal with the public! Trust me she was that weird! Nonetheless, I needed a cut so I just tried to think positive and stayed. She tugged hard through my baby fine hair. So hard that when I was laying in bed that night, my scalp hurt. Which has never ever happened to me. Then she would clip sections of my hair, and when she was done with a clip, she would grab it from my hair and throw it in an annoyed way on her work station table. I read bad reviews about the salon, but did not want to believe them. Next time I need a cut, I will think twice about going back there!!! Pros: Nice eyebrow waxing Cons: Cold atmosphere... Not an attractive relaxing spa.

I was eager to get a massage at Adam Broderick; it was a gift to me, and I was in desperate need of some relaxation and mother/daughter bonding time. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my service. First, the massage tables are located in the basement. Translation: amplification of the noisy commotion of the two floors above you (think hardwood floors and high heels). I also thought it was uncomfortably cold - I had goosebumps throughout my whole massage. Not exactly a relaxing experience. Needless to say, I didn't leave a tip, and I will not be back. Cons: Extremely noisy

Have had wonderful facials with Sheila who really seems to go the extra mile in advice and making it a pleasant experience. Ditto massage with Brooke and Linda. But.. I completely agree that the women at the front desk have a very arrogant and unfriendly attitude. Perhaps they are under the assumption that the clients will feel they are visiting a very plush and exclusive salon if they put on airs. Time for Adam to take the time to see that the front presents a very poor first impression.

I went to the Southbury location a few times in the past for small haircuts or something similar. This time, my husband gave me an anniversary gift by letting me highlight my hair. as pricey as that is here, you can imagine it wasn't cheap...$75 (without tip). I was assigned a stylist who was realllyy nice and she did the foils super fast. I opted to blow-dry myself because I find others tend to burn my scalp when they do it for me. I noticed after blow drying that the highlights weren't 'blonde' enough for me. I thought maybe I'm being obsessive. right before leaving, i checked out with the stylist who did the foils and she was already working on her next client. She asked me how i liked it. I asked her 'it is going to lighten up, right? She's like, Yeah; you have to give it a few days. So I get home and I'm still not completely satisfied. I expected a WOW factor since it's such a foofey snooty salon. When I took a mirror and checked the back of my hair and the inside layers, I noticed they were still dark!!! I was soooooo annoyed. I hate being one of those irritable customers...I usually just stay quiet even if i hate something...but c'mon; this is supposed to be a gift from my husband! I'm calling them tomorrow to tell them to make my neglected strands blonde or do something else about it. I shouldn't have to 'wait' for it to turn the color I requested. it doesn't look bad at all, but it's definitely not what I went in for. I could have told them, Hey, make my hair a nice BROWN color in highlights, but I definitely told her when I sat in her chair i wanted BLONDE highlights. I even pointed out her coworker who has all blonde hair...I said, THAT color. Am I over obsessing?

I went here because my co-worker suggested it. I waited in a long line to check in and out. I got my hair washed without the stylist consulting with me first. I was supposed to recieve hilites but that appointment somehow wasn't even scheduled! UGH! Then they offered me hilites after I was cut and dried! Can you believe it! What a waste of time and the cut wasn't even worth the money. Overpriced for lousy service. Also,definately in need of new management.No one could figure out what to do with my messed up appt. I would not recommend this joke of a salon to anyone. Take my advice and stay away! Cons: You get shoved around and are treated like a number in a deli line

I recently found Lani at Candlewood salon so If you are also looking for Lani call candlewood. 203-740-7600 I will never go there ever again and I told all my friends.
