Maymount Park is the best park in the area. It is huge with lots of open space just to play frisbee or have a picnic. The indoor center with the fish is excellent. The petting zoo is fun for kids. They have many animals. Plus it is free. The parking is limited, but otherwise it is great.

I LOVE this store!!! Where else in the country can you go to find such wonderful clothing in one little store? and the owner and the sales staff are just magnificent....you do not need to go to nyc ever again-just save your money and go to the PHOENIX!

Casa Grande, the Mexican restaurant in west broad street is one of my favorites. Their cheese burritos, cheese quesidilla, Tacos are great. They also have other spicy items available which you will find in their vast menu. The prices are very affordabel. Give it a shot !

The Toymaker of Williamsburg has a great selection of gifts for young and old from Playmobiles to Civil War chess sets. The staff is patient and helpful and it's also quite kid friendly --

This is my all time favorite Chinese buffet. They have a beautiful fish pond you cross over that my son loves. Their buffet is huge, and always tastes fresh. They offer many seafood items including (cold) crab legs and raw oysters. My favorite part is the Mongolian grill where you choose the items you want cooked and they cook it in front of you.

I was referred here by another mechanic for a rattly exhaust pipe. They promptly checked my pipe and fixed the small clip FREE of charge!!! It did not require new parts and only a little time. I was so surprised. I would definitely go there when we need a new exhaust system.

Edo's Squid is without question one of the hidden gems in the Richmond area. It's located on top of a greasy spoon in the heart of VCU (Harrison Street). Even for the die hard suburbans, it's worth the drive. Specials are posted nightly on written pads on the wall. Every dish reflects the chef's passion with garlic and fresh foods. Occasionally the restaurant runs short on squid, unfortunately, but there is always a wonderful alternative. I especially love the endive salad, scungili (sp.?) appetizer, amazing lamb chops and Pasta Karl.
Worth a drive. Be cautioned, the place is LIVELY on weekends and quiet, intimate tables against the wall are hard to come by during peak times.

They aren't very fond of having sales but for what they sell their regular prices are very reasonable anyway --
I love their selection of Thomas, Brio and Playmobile toys, their kitchen sets for kids are so fun looking and they never complain when my kids come in and touch all the toys!
They also participate in the annual festivals at their shopping center with much enthusiasm and I really appreciate that :)
