Lewis Ginter is a botanical garden of extraordinary proportions -- they have plants from all over the world, dozens of rare orchids in the conservatory, a large children's garden with a handicapped accessable tree house and to make matters even better they do a GIANT festival of lights for the holidays -- there are light displays all over the place and it's just so much fun to walk through. The prices for a one time visit are pretty reasonable and the membershipd are a steal!

It is just the right time to visit there! The colorful leaves from the trees there make the garden heaven like in the fall days, not to mention it also show you a lively lesson of a science as well.

Lewis Ginter offers beautiful gardens. It is a very serene place to go. The price for admission is pretty high. They have just added on a children's area. It includes a huge treehouse for the kids to climb up and play in. The cafe there is very nice. It did not strike me as a place that you would want to take children. It is very quiet and refined. The service was good and the food was good there.

We have been to Lewis Ginter twice for the Christmas displays, and we loved it so much that we bought a year long membership. The gardens are gorgeous in all seasons, and membership gives you the benefits of classes, trips, and access to special events. The gift shop has a lot of great gardening and gift ideas.
There are also a lot of great facilities to hold weddings and receptions, although a little pricy!

When my husband and I got married, we wanted it to be in a place that was both beautiful and centrally located. We chose to have our wedding reception at Lewis Ginter, in the Tea Room. We will never regret that choice! We worked closely with the staff and catering companies that are at LG, and every detail was thoughtfully carried out. We liked the fact that our event was private, even in the middle of a huge place like the gardens! We were not interrupted by outsiders even once. There is plenty of room for dancing, eating, or walking about and mingling. And of course, the flower gardens are lovely in the Spring and Summer! If you are looking to plan a big or special event, this is the venue for you!
PROS: Perfect for a wedding reception or other big event
CONS: Yes, it *is* expensive, but worth it!

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is a very beautiful garden. You almost can go there any season. I have been there for many times and every time when I was there, I just felt very relaxed and refreshed. They offer special Gardenfest of Lights over Christmas. The garden looks even beautiful with the lights decoration. Try to visit this garden once, I am sure you will love it.

This privately owned garden is very extensive. My husband is a biologist so he really enjoys all the various species of plants. I enjoy the colorful flowers, butterflies, and kid's area. At Christmas the light show is very neat. The garden can be pricey for a family. They have a neat gift shop with unique gifts for other plant lovers or that hard to buy for aunt. They have garden ornaments, jewelry, flags, books, and more.

This is a very nice day to go on a spring or fall day when it is not too hot. However, my absolute favorite time to go is over Christmas, when they have the Gardenfest of Lights. We take my daughter every year. Strolling the gardens with a nip in the air, seeing the lights, drinking hot choclate -- all very festive.
Just be sure to use a coupon from the Entertainment Book or elsewhere.
I do not know if they have yet finished the children's garden -- it seems this has been a very long time coming. If not, I would think best suited for school age kids and up.

We enjoyed our day here but am curious as to why this is listed under the heading of Free Attraction! It was definitely not free and rather commercial for a botanic garden.
