All of these 'paint your own' pottery places are slightly expensive in my opinion, but All Fired Up has some great deals now and then. They have fairly decent group rates, good rates for parties and such as well. The designs they have in the ceramics they sell are really lovely and unique and the staff is very helpful. If you're looking for something fun to do for an afternoon this is a great option even of you don't consider yourself 'artistic'.

We looked for a ballet class for my oldest daughter for some time before finding All Star Dance -- they are PERFECT for what we need -- lessons include both tap and ballet, the groups are kept small and the teachers are patient and kind --
We take a homeschool class which is SO much more reasonable than I was preparing to pay for lessons through other dance companies in the area and it's at a perfect time of day too -- We enjoy All Star Dance so much our two littlest girls are going to begin ballet lessons this September too, how fun!

AMF Shrader lanes is conveniently located off of Broad Street. It is a nice bowling alley in a well lit area that is safe at night. The alley is clean and there are plenty of shoes and balls. It is a little expensive but alot of fun. They have many leagues too.

Step back into the 1920's when you go to this theater! The Byrd is a great place for a date. With the beautiful chandelier to the red carpet, you will feel like royalty walking in for a movie. The seats are a bit small but for a cheap movie ticket, you will get your money's worth. Great date night idea. Many great shops and eateries around so you can stop by those before hitting a movie. Do not expect new released movies to be at the byrd.
Pros: classy, ambience, service, friendly staff,

The folks at Candyland Music in Richmond are terrific. They let you play their instruments, offer you great deals, and they'll even refer to you different stores if you cannot find what you're looking for. The store carries a great selection of beautiful guitars, basses, and other instruments. I definitely recommend shopping here if you're in a band or looking to pick up a new instrument. This place, to put it bluntly, ROCKS!!! I have told many people about Candyland and everyone who has gone has walked away a happy customer.

After 20 years in Richmond,I finally attended a concert at the Carpenter Center and was absolutely blown away.This is a beautiful old theatre,and they have really done a great job to maintain it's original glory.It is a small venue,it almost reminds me of an old fashioned auditorim or movie theatre.I look forward to returning to this place many more times. I loved it!

The Children's Museum is a bit expensive, but alot of fun. $7 for kids or adults over age 1. They have great activities. They have a great area for small children to play and lots of activities for older kids. Several of the exhibits change periodically so there are new things to see and do. The art center is fantastic!! They also have a large climbing area, a pretend store, a cave, and alot more.
