I have been going to see Gregory at Visions for over 8 years, and he really is the best stylist in town. As you all know, it’s difficult to find someone you can trust. But whether it’s a cut or highlights, Gregory’s professionalism and talent are truly unique. I have recommended Gregory to over a dozen friends, and each one has thanked me for the referral. There’s no one else I would trust more!

Every woman knows it is hard to find a stylist that gives you a consistently great haircut every time. Well, Richmond is in luck. There is such a stylist in our own backyard. I have been going to Gregory at Visions Salon in the Fan for over 10 years. Though my longevity as a client speaks for itself, it is important to emphasize that his cuts/colors and styling are fantastic!

I choose Visions after reading all of the positive reviews here on this site and I have to say it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I made an appointment for a haircut but didn't request anyone in particular, I just wanted the first stylist who was available and so they assigned me Stephanie. I showed her a photo of the haircut I wanted and it was the first time in my life where I actually received a haircut that looked EXACTLY like the photo I brought in! She took her time to make sure she got the haircut right and also took her time in styling and flat ironing my unruly hair. Three weeks later I returned to get a full set of highlights. I told her specifically what I wanted and she followed my instructions perfectly. I've never been so happy with my highlights before! She's incredibly patient, professional and sweet. The only downside to my second visit was the shampooer soaked the upper back of my t-shirt while washing my hair. But the shampooer I had before then was perfect. The haircut was $40 and the full set of highlights, which included lowlights, were $110. That may sound a tad pricey but believe me, it was absolutely worth every penny. I've been disappointed too many times in the past by going to cheaper salons. Visions and Stephanie is worth the money! Pros: Professional and friendly staff. They offer coffee, teas, water and even wine I believe. Cons: One shampooer soaked the upper back of my t-shirt but the shampooer I had during my first visit was perfect. You have to search for street parking but it IS Richmond so that's to be expected.

I have been to Visions four times and have only been satisfied once. The first time was with a woman I believe her name was Laura who proceeded to loudly state that I had dandruff and asked if I had been picking at a scab on my head. I had very long hair and was getting it cut short and she gave me a cut I would expect from someone new at Hair Cuttery. Very rude woman. The next time I went the owner cut my hair but shooed me out of the chair midway through for a more important client. The third unsatisfactory visit was recently with a man named Tony who barely trimmed my hair, gave it no shape whatsoever and when I asked him for bangs he cut a few thin strands in front (I have very thick hair). I had to ask him to cut more and he didn't seem to even know what he was doing. Overpriced for the experience!!

I chose this place because of the reviews. However, I am a little dissappointed I believed the reviews. This place isnt' as great as what people hype it to be. The service was good, but the haircut was okay. I went there once, and that was about it. Back of my head was uneven, which I didn't notice, until I got home. Little stuff like that, paying attention to detail is important when you go to a salon. I haven't had this before...and now I am sure i won't. I haven't been there since. Pros: Service Cons: Lack of Detail oriented
