I haven't been to Royal Orchid in months but I've always had great culinary memories in this place. A few years ago my boyfriend called the place a few minutes before they closed to wait for us before they close the kitchen. When we arrived at Royal Orchid we were 15 minutes late and the place has been officially closed for about 20 mins but the staff gladly took us in. We didn't get any attitude and they treated us very well. We had such a great time and the service was impeccable. Food is amazing too. If you're not up to any of the rice dishes your best bet would be their appetizers. They have the best appetizer selection anywhere in this city. The next time I went in I had sore throat so I can't eat any of my food. My server made a great effort to ensure I liked my food and even offered to give me a new entrée for free. I told him everything was perfect and I was just too sick to eat. This is truly one of the best restaurants around!

Fairwood Library is part of the King County Library system and has books, a good career section, tapes, dvds, computers and more. Their offerings are available through the internet at http://www.kcls.org . You need to get a library card to check out items. Their career section is often my first target with course listings for many of the area colleges, good references for how to find a job, and some job listings. The computers are in high demand via signup sheets. They have many community programs including tax help, english as a second language etc. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Huge section of children's books.

I can't tell you how many times I've talked to moms who have said, "I didn't need La Leche League, I didn't have any problems breastfeeding." or, "La Leche League couldn't help me, I just didn't have enough milk."
La Leche League is for every breastfeeding mother who could use some support, encouragement and information. Even if things are going swimmingly, chatting about mothering through breastfeeding is always important to new moms and things come up, even if they are minor, its likely another mother has experienced what you are going through.
As for milk supply, there are rare true occasions of insufficient milk supply, but they are generally linked to a hormonal issue or severe hemmorhaging during childbirth. Often times breastfeeding management is the culprit and LLL can help put things in perspective.
La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.
Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine.
However, there is no requirement to pay for help. All phone help and meetings are free. All Leaders are volunteer moms. If you find a Leader you just don't click with..try another meeting or call another Leader.
La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.
La Leche League is a valuable resource for breastfeeding and expectant mothers. The best thing to do is to check out a group near you when you are in your last trimester (or earlier). That way, you get a network of support in place BEFORE you have the baby for those crucial early days.
The Seattle Helpline is 206-522-1336. You can find a group in your area here: http://www.lalecheleague.org/Web/Washington.html

My family has been getting their prescriptions from Fairwood Pharmacy for over 10 years. The pharmacists there are extremely knowledgeable and they fill your prescription fairly quickly. A bonus is that when you’re waiting they have a great store that’s a part of the pharmacy. You can find great gifts, cards, candles, basically anything there. But be careful about how much time you spend at that store, you can easily spend a lot of money! But the good thing is that they have a “power pass” card you can register for. It’s like a club card where they track your purchases and when you reach a certain amount, they give you coupons for money off your next purchase. I have a $10 one in my wallet right now. Overall it’s a great place! Highly recommended.

My friend and I eat here every week. The food is incredible and the service is terrific. I'm always greeted with a friendly smile. I've tried just about every dish on the menu and all are fantastic. Portions are generous. I recommend the steak Torerro: perfectly prepared steak with grilled onions, mushrooms, and bell pepper! Accompanied with spanish rice, beans, and the delectible coleslaw type salad. I could make a meal off of their mouth watering salsa and chips! And they often make their delicious flour tortillas where you can watch!
Or this one might sound odd, but try the chicken soup! It's outstanding!
Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere

I like shopping at Value Village. They have a great selection of used clothing at very reasonable prices. This Value Village is larger than most, which means you have more items to choose from. The clothes are organized by category and size so it is easy to find the section you are looking for. I've gotten some great deals on jeans for work!

I've used them a handfull of times and never been disappointed. I always use the cheapest way possible (van share) and have never had to ride in a full van. Most times its just been me, maybe one other person.
The drivers are friendly and helpful.
