One thing I really like about Big Lots is their selection of food. They sometimes have brands that I've never heard of that are really good. The only trouble is that if I buy one box of something and want to go back for more, because of their rotating stock, I won't know if they have it until I get there.
I also have to be aware of expiration dates on things like cereal. I've had one or two boxes that haven't tasted that great because they've gone stale.
Overall, I love to find a bargain and that's why this is one of my favorite stores around.

They're across the street from each other on Sunset, indicating that the neighborhood ain't exactly Medina.
But between those two stores and the Goodwill store down the block, bargains abound.

SAM's Club cakes are cheap and they taste great. Initially, I didn't bother to check there because I didn't think they'd have all the licensed characters that kids want on a birthday cake (Elmo, Dora, Spiderman, etc.) but they do! I don't know why anyone would go anywhere else for a birthday cake- they've got everything you could want. Now it can be a problem if you don't actually need that much cake (you get like twice the size of a "normal" cake for the same price) but you can always send people home with the leftovers and honestly, is there really such a thing as "too much cake" anyway?

This is a great location for this Sam's. I'm glad they turned that old eyesore lot into something. This has a gas station that has cheaper prices than anywhere else in Renton. The parking is great, lots of space. Great selection of items; however the Auburn SuperMall store has a larger selection of items overall.
This Sam's gets a LOT of traffic/business, so the lines are a little longer. Also, the food court is always dirty and the lines for a hot dog are very, very long. I just skip the food court altogether when I'm here. The way it is situated right next to the checkout counters is inconvenient for the flow of cart traffic, because people pile up their large carts at the food court and don't let people who are regularly checking out to get by.

Okay, so the store itself is great...just don't even try to go close to it during the weekends or anytime after 5pm. This place is an absolute zoo. It really is a good place to shop because they have cheap stuff that ranges from domestic items like vacuums to clothes and electronics. I enjoy the inexpensive prices but it makes it almost not worth it to stand in line and battle trying to make your shopping cart go through the aisles.
