Vince's still delivers on the puttanesca 10/20/2007

My partner and I recently transferred home locations from Seattle to Renton. Oddly enough both of us, at separate times, have lived in Renton before so it was no surprise that Michael knew this restaurant well from years ago. He loves Vince's for the puttanesca, his favorite Italian dish, which isn't on every Italian restaurant's menu. Since we ate here with friends we learned that one in the other couple also is a puttanesca fan. Who knew? I think both the men were happy but I could tell our friend may have had higher expectations given Michael's description. Either way, me and the other woman both ended up ordering the same meal which was a pasta primavera - the special that day. The penne was done very well (meaning, it was good not "well done" as in overcooked) and the amount of vegetables was impressive - as was the level of garlic in the simple sauce. Considering their wine prices are extremely reasonable and the cost of the meals were as well - we were pretty happy. Throw in that they also accept the Passport card (2 for 1 entrees) we walked out feeling satisfied and with leftovers for lunch the next day. A great deal! more

Vince's in Highlands 8/16/2006

I was really hungry one night and decided to try out delivery at Vince's in Renton Highlands. I ordered the canneloni (which I never see in any of the Italian restaurants in Renton. Gene's Ristorante used to have 'em but it's already closed.) The delivery was super fast. The spinach canneloni was a bit uninspired, the spinach and cheese stuffing tasted stale and a little too salty. I also ordered the bruschetta and it was OK, it wasn't bad but after eating the bruschetta at The Pink Door in Seattle it definitely didn't make the cut. I'll try Vince's again and maybe the second time it will be better. more

Good Italian in Funny Location 8/8/2005

Located in a strip mall close to a thrift store and dollar store, I did not expect much the first time I ate here. However, this is a place that my family now dines at often! The wait time is minimal (large restaurant w/ ample seating), service is fine, the entrées are consistanly good & the pizza is out of this world! (BTW, "Vince's" has even been voted the Best Italian Food for a few years now by some local TV show.) Yes, the decor is your stereo-typical Italian restaurant look: red glass candles, murals of Italian life painted on the walls, red leatherette booths, dim lighting and wine bottle's with dripping candles. But with food this delicious, who cares? Not me! more

Not too bad 7/12/2005

Not exactly world class Italian but it will do in a pinch when you don't want to cook dinner. There is a ton of parking so that is never a concern. Service is prompt and it is never busy. You can also order from them and it is not a long wait. I like their pizza and the price is reasonable. I would recommend this place as a good choice. more
