I have to say that I have been taking my daughter to see Dr Richter for 8 years. She has always been so warm and caring towards her. Unfortunately it has not been the same type of treatment for my 7 year old son and 6 month of son. I recently took my 6month old in to have his shots. She rushed through his exam and was very short. The following morning my son awoke with a 14.3 temp. We took him in to Dr Anderson as she is not in the clinic on Fridays. Dr Anderson said my son had a horrible double ear infection which completely contradicts what Dr Richter had told us just the day before. He gave him a shot of antibiotics and asked us to return to the clinic the following day. Upon return we saw Dr Richter. She told me my sons ears were completely fine and were probably red the day before due to crying. Let me tell you my 6month old is NOT a crier!!! I just so happened to bump into Dr Anderson as we were leaving and asked for a second opinion. Not only did he say my son STILL had an ear infection but also wanted him put on an oral antibiotic ASAP!!! She had released us stating his fever was from shots and his ears were red from crying. I am changing doctors for ALL 3 of my children. DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR CHILD MISDIAGNOSED OVER AND OVER!!!!

Not only is Dr.Richter the best pediatrician around, she is the most caring and conscientious as well. She helped me with breast feeding my son, sent me home with a scale so I could call in daily weight checks, (we lived nearly 40 miles away), and when he was in the hospital with dehydration from the flu, she came in on her day off just to see how we were all doing. I've working in the medical field for nearly 20 years, and you just don't find better doctors than Monica Richter.

I highly recommend Dr. Monica Richter! She has been the Doctor to not only my oldest but also my youngest since March 29th 2006. I my self being a Co sleeping Brest feeding Mom have had nothing but awesome comments from her of the up bringing and health of my children. This Doctor during an RSV flare with my youngest called my home 2 times on her own time just to see how he was doing. Doctors just don't that any more. That's special! She is a great Doctor! I admire her for her honesty and opinion

Unfortunately an excellent Childrens Clinic (Valley Childrens Clinic), in my opinion, is tarnished having this dr serving their clientele. I saw Dr. Richter with my 6mo old son to see if he had an ear infection. In the time that I was in her office she had me in tears telling me how awful of a parent I was for breastfeeding my son, for that being his main source of nutrition. She told me he HAD to be eating 3 meals a day (Someone hasnt read the AAP recommendations). Dr. Richter followed that by telling me I should not co sleep with my son, it was doing him long term harm. It just went down hill fromthere. I am not the only one that feels this way, the same people that referred me to VCC, told me they had had a similar experience with Dr. Richter. If I had gone in because my son wasnt eating, or because he wasnt sleeping well, then *maybe* these topics coming up would have been justified, but it had nothing to do with why I was there, and it was bad information for a dr to be giving. I have let ONE of my children be seen by Dr. Richter, ONE time, and that was enough for a lifetime. There are too many other great drs in that clinic!
