Bad phone service 7/8/2010

Called to schedule new appt. Said they don't take 2 new patients on the same day, meaning I would have to schedule my kids on different days. Doesn't make any sense. Money is money. Very poor customer service over the phone. more

I LOVE THIS OFFICE!!!! 5/14/2010

Renton Pediatrics is Fantastic!!! The staff is great, they didn't always have the best customer service, but now they ROCK! My child goes between both the Renton and Kent office and both are really nice and friendly. The Kent office is quieter then the Renton office and less busy. The girls in the Kent office are super amazing and go out of their way to help you and take stress away from whats going on. The doctor are the reason you have to wait, not the staff or nurses. The doctors run behind and that is why you have to wait. Don't hold this against the front office staff, they can't make the doctor's go any faster. Dr. Friedman and Ellie are incrediable! They are really friendly and never rush you to leave. When I can't see them I like to see Dr. Moinpour and Telina who are wonderful and pleasent to talk to and are really knowledgeable about whats going on. Also at times I have seen Jere O'Brien-Kinne the nurse practitioner and Ashley they are great and Jere is amazing with kids. Which really makes them comfortable about being at the doctors office. more

Wouldn't mention the name RPA to an enemy 1/26/2010

I was looking for a pediatric for my boys and came across RPA on the Internet. Call them to see if they are accepting new patient and the receptionist ask for my insurance and I said "NALC". She asked me what that stand for and I said I don't know. So, she put me on hold. Came back a minute later and said "sir, you're gonna have to call your insurance and find out if they're in network with us". And I told her I know what it stand for now but she didn't care for it and continue on to said you still gonna have to call them yourself. So I hung up. more

Great Place!! 5/1/2009

I have been going to RP for 8 years and have NEVER had a bad experience with the staff. We see Dr. Freidman and Ellie and wouldn't change a thing. We go to the Kent office, but have been to the Renton one as well. Always nice, always pleasant. Then again, so am I. more

Don't Be Hurtful 12/13/2007

Great pediatric clinic - enjoyed taking my kids there. Caution: just offer straightforward opinions without hurtful comments. An employee of Renton Pediatrics should never publicly bash the other Pediatric Clinic at Valley - valley Children's - shame!! more

Go Before you judge them! 7/14/2007

I actually worked for RPA. All of the doctors are absoultly wonderful and I know that the frustration is on the front staff. But, first of all I really don't think that any of you should be judging these people. Yes, you have to wait to be seen but a lot of the time there has been a very sick child a head of you or other situations that just can not be helped. As a Medical Assistant I know how the office works just as you do in your job. But, I see all of these negative things written on this web site and the funny thing is all of you sit there and say how wonderful the doctors are. YOU ARE NOT HERE TO SEE THE RECEPTIONIST! Yes, it is nice to have great customer service but at the same time you are punishing these great doctors by putting in these really hateful comments. And as far as Valley Pediatrics you wouldn't believe how many complaints I have recieved and how many shots that I have had to repeat because they were given at the wrong time or the wrong vaccine was given. A lot of what happens in a medical office is a result of bad management but I think that the doctors have no idea what is going on because they are busy treating your children! As far as the comment of having an appointment and having to leave: It is probably because you were late for your appointment. In the 8 years I worked there we very rarely turned away a patient...IF YOUR CHILD IS SICK WE SEE YOU! If you don't like the clinic leave..but don't bash them to others who really enjoy their care. more

Great Doctors, Horrible Office 6/27/2007

I have not been to Renton pediatrics a lot, but when i do, I come in on time with my kids, and we end up waiting for at least 20 minutes. The thing is that if you don't CHECK IN on time, then they just cancel your appointment. It disgusts me how the receptionists were not doing anything, yet there were many people in the line. There was maybe only 1 out of the 4-5 receptionists that were doing work. It doesn't help if you're kids feel bad and you have to sit in a crowded waiting room just to check in. Yet, I still go because after you get past the receptionists, the doctors and nurses are wonderful. They always have something to tell you about whats going on, without making anyone sound stupid or to blame. Maybe if they hired better office staff, a lot more people would go. more

Rude Staff is a Reflection of the Doctors - switch to Valley Children's Clinic 4/11/2007

I've been so disappointed with the rude staff and availability of after hours care. We needed the consulting nurse over a weekend. They didn't switch the phones over and they just rang and rang. When we needed to talk with a doctor during the lunch hour, the service was going to page Dr. Shorr and have him call us. He never called, and when I called the office again, Dr. Shorr was on vacation. The office staff is rude when making appointments, checking in, and paying. The fact that they have a poster with the examples of inappropriate dress visible to patients gives you a feel for the office. The last straw for me was when we were checking in, the reception staff didn't even look at me, said, "I'll be with you in a moment". Then, a drug rep came in behind me. She jumped up, hugged the rep, and said, "go right on back, the dr is in his office". When drug reps are more important than patients, you know there's something wrong. We switched to Valley Children's Clinic - located in the same building! I highly recommend Valley Children's Clinic as their doctors are stellar and highly experienced. The staff is kind, helpful and happy. I strongly belief the way the staff treat patients is a reflection of how the doctors treat the staff. We just couldn't trust Renton Pediatrics with our children's health and well being. more

The doctors are very good but the clinic staff is bad! 12/4/2006

My experience with Renton Pediatrics is not very good. The doctors are nice and I think they are great, they spend time with you and answer all your questions. The bad is the staff. They are very unorganized and very disrespectful. They will give you appointment and just as you arrived their clinic they will just send you home and cancel the appointment because they ran out of vaccine, they don't bother to call you ahead of time to inform you of cancellation so you wasted your time and effort to bring your kids to their clinic for nothing. They did not even say sorry as if you're begging for their service. Also, the wait is too long. You will be there on time to keep your month long waited appointment, if you're late you lose your appointment so be there on time but...expect to wait more than 30 minutes before you actually see your doctor because really they don't value your time. more

The doctors are very good but the staff is LOUSY! 12/4/2006

I'm looking right now for a new Pediatrics clinic, I have four children. Dr. Shorr is the man, but the clinic staff is horrible 11/27/2006

My family has had 3 patients which used this clinic over a 20 year span of time. I feel that perhaps I could give some insight into what someone could expect when dealing with this particular clinic. While the doctors and nurses at Renton Pediatric Associates are absolutely wonderful in terms of patient care and professionalism, Im affraid that their clinic is plagued with inconsistant, forgetful, and possibly downright neglectful staff workers. If the reviewer who thought that 4 minutes was bad, I unfortunately had to wait a recorded 15 minutes on the phone while waiting for a staff member to respond. Its getting to the point where even if you talk to 2 or more different staff members about a question or a request, you can never really feel sure that anyone is going to do anything about it or even get you an answer. It feels like their "can we have a number to reach you back at?" is a trained response to send you away, until you end up calling them a week later asking them the same question because they havent answered you yet. Its truely a shame because this place has the potential to be the best pediatric clinic in King county if they just had a supporting staff that was up to the task of being helpful, friendly, and reliable. In fact, I'd give them another star if they had any one of these three traits at their clinic. Unfortunately, you work with their schedule, not them working with yours, which should speak volumes for their mentality in that office. I wish I could give a more positive review, but I feel like Im being patronized by the office workers every time I end up talking to them. more

Renton Pediatrics is a great place! 11/15/2006

We love Renton pediatrics. My kids see Dr. Friedman and just LOVE him. He is a great listener, and never rushes you. His nurse Ellie is wonderful as well! We always go to the Kent office, as it is closest to our home. Very nice office and easy to get to. more

Great doctors, horrible staff 7/24/2006

The doctors at Renton Pediatrics are wonderful. Dr. Linda Wiseman has a great way of making suggestions while complimenting my parenting styles and abilities. She is very focused on both of my children and takes a caring and proactive approach. The nurses are great too and can really help with problems when on the phone. Despite all of this, I may have to switch. The office staff is HORRIBLE. It takes forever for them to answer the phone, literally 4 minutes at times. They are snotty and rude and want to know exactly what you want to talk to a nurse about before transferring you. It's frustrating that they don't open the calendar for appointments until the previous month, ie: booking for September can't happen until August 1st. They also don't communicate messages regarding referrals in a timely manner. more

See Dr. Shorr! 10/6/2005

You can feel comfortable taking your children to Renton Pediatric Associates. They have convenient hours and it is not to hard to get appointments. Just be sure to call ahead for regular (non-emergency) checkups as those can fill up a few weeks ahead of time. Dr. Shorr is incredibly friendly and so soft spoken the kids can’t help but like him. The office is conveniently located in the Medical Arts building next to Valley Medical Center. There is a laboratory (for blood work) and x-rays etc. available right in the same building. This can save you a lot of time in case of an unfortunate accident. more

Pleasant Pediatrics Clinic 8/22/2005

This is the pediatrics clinic that we choose when I was pregnant with my first daughter, and we have been happy with for the last six years and one additional child. The most important thing to me was that they were very available. They have Saturday and Sunday office hours, and they can always get you in that day (if you'll see anyone in the practice) if you have a sick kid. They also take care to send potentially contagious children to the back door, and schedule well-baby checkups at a separate time of day. The building is relatively sterile looking for a pediatric office, though, and the available toys are pitiful. I thought this was less important than the quality of care, and the ability to see a doctor when we needed to. They are next to the hospital, and the doctors work in the hospital too. I am not sure how to rate the price, since we always just pay our copay, so I'll give them an "average". more

Dr. Friedman is the best! 7/15/2005

Renton Pediatric Associates has been great. It is conveniently located at Valley Medical Center in Renton. They always have same day appointments and have office hours on the weekends. We love Dr. Friedman because he is fun and never talks down to me. I feel like he really listens and I never feel rushed. Since he has small children he has a lot of great advice that I have used. more
