I brought 3 watches in to Times Square at 10:20AM on 4/12/06. I was told to wait ten minutes while batteries were installed. When I returned, the first watch was returned to me with many new scratches on the back, a crooked face, and later, while straightening the face, I found a large piece of lint dust inside the case. The second watch appeared alright. The clerk said that the third watch was "tested" and "didn't need a new battery". I discovered later that if the battery was removed from the watch for testing, it would have displayed flashing zeros. This third watch is an Atomic watch that sets itself by radio signal and could not have received the signal from inside the Times Square shop. In summary, the clerk lied to me about testing a battery, scratched a new watch, and allowed a large piece of potentially damaging lint to enter the watch case.
