After letting my baby fine hair grow out to my midback it was starting to get unruley. It was tangling all the time and my color natural color (a medium honey blonde) was looking kind of dull. I was really nervous about going to a new salon; but, I was absolutely thrilled with the results! I showed the stylist two pictures, one of a style I like and one showing highlights I like. She did exactly what I wanted and kept all my length. She was pleasant and very knowledgable. At the end the stylist didn't even try to sell me extra products or services. The Metro also has a really interesting atmosphere. The trendy interiour is a sharp contrast to the old victorian-style house in which it is located. I definitely recommend this salon. I will definitely return.
Pros: Great cut and color, Trendy atmosphere, Talented stylists

My sisters and I decided to go to Metro because we had all grown out our hair and we were beginning to look really unpretty. So, we set the date. My two sisters went first. My oldest sister told the hairdresser to keep her length-just make it more shapely. She did and it looked great. When my other sister and I both went to the other hairdresser.. won't mention names.. she was completely unprofessional. \r
My sister wanted shape as well--somewhat like a modern mullett. Which meant, keep the length, shoulder height. We found a picture that pretty much gave the hairdresser the cut she wanted, just slightly SLIGHTly shorter. So, what did she do? The worst thing possible. I had begun reading magazines around the corner. When I came out my sister's hair was no longer. Instead, the hairdresser gave her a pixie cut! It was the most unflattering hair ever. THIS IS A TRUE STORY! To be honest, she looked like a boy. Her hair was an inch off her scalp. There was no length to speak of. There were chunks of hair, single strands of hair sticking out, the exact opposite of what she wanted.\r
I began to take my place in the seat. Although my hair ended up looking pretty good, my sister's hair was something else. \r
Little did I know that while I was getting my hair cut, my sister was crying in the car. My older sister came to the front desk--after my sister had paid an astounding $50 odd dollars for her cut and said to the lady ""My sister is outside balling because of her hair. Is there anything you can do?"" \r
So, this is why Metro doesn't get an Awful rating. They refunded her money, gave her hair product, and recut it so that it was somewhat better. \r
But, we'll never go back again to the hairdresser who's name is the same as a character in Batman.\r
Pros: Good Manager
Cons: One horrible hairdresser
