There's a saying that "Hunger is the best sauce". I was very hungry tonight, so I shudder to think what the food would have been on a different night.
>>>Food:
Since this was my first visit, I ordered the basic chicken and beef combo. The portion size was good to generous and the price is in line with the many teriyaki places in the area ($8.30 with tax). The combo is served with rice and a side salad. The chicken and the beef looked good had what appeared to be visible grill marks, usually a good sign. However, both turned out to dry and tough as well as somewhat bland tasting. I would guess that the meat was simply grilled without marinade and the sauce just poured on after cooking. The white rice (there is an extra cost brown rice option) was cooked with too much water and quite sticky...although admittedly some people prefer that. The salad is served with a disappointing standard ranch dressing, not on par with the various ginger or sesame or vinaigrette dressings offered at other nearby restaurants and it clashes badly with sweet/salty teriyaki sauce.
>>>Decor:
A bit drab and rundown but clean. This is surprising as this building was completed just a few months ago and probably due to reusing the furniture from the old place.
>>>Service:
Unfriendly and dour. When my takeout order was ready, the clerk did not speak clearly or make eye contact. Therefore I was not sure if it was my order that was ready and she *glared* at me for not understanding. Next time speak up and try a smile!

They reopened after the renovation and new addition to the Redmond Center plaza is completed. They are the first store to open in the new building. This is my first time. Clean store space. Good lunch specials $6.40. Thursday was Teriyaki + Katsu. Portions are good. Taste is perfect. Service is nominal and comparable to other Teriyaki places. This will be an interesting competition to Toshi which is off by one block.

Best teryaki in Redmond! Mostly for take out, but they do have a small eat in section. More

Yes... this is *still* the best teriyaki in Redmond. It's really tucked into the corner, and has very little seating, so don't expect ambience. I... More

Niko Teriyaki, which is located in the complex with Ben Franklin Crafts and QFC, is a good, relatively consistent teriyaki place. Their teriyaki chicken is good and I like the fact that you can get brown rice with it for an extra charge. Their katsu chicken is good and I also like their tempura for variety once in a while. They also offer a punch card program so you can get a free meal now and then. It's easy enough to place an order and then grab some groceries at the QFC, come back and it's ready - or call ahead of time.

I worked at the Redmond Target store back in the day, and we'd make a habit of piling into a car and trucking over to Niko's for lunch. Everybody loves it!!
Pros: awesome teriyaki

Niko Teriyaki is wonderful! A great value, wonderful food and fast service. The chicken teriyaki I would drive, and have driven, across Lake Washington for! I try every teriyaki place I see in hopes of improving, and haven't managed yet. Niko thrilled me when they started offering brown rice! Ah, they know what we want! Their tempura is delightful, the yakisoba oh so tasty, and not too sweet. A great, casual place to eat a tasty meal and relax. I've taken many a child there as well, and all have left full and happy, which is saying something huge! My most picky of pickiest Brazilian boyfriend Dani loves it too, and before trying it would never even consider eating asian food. (Let's just cross fingers he'll go for thai food next!)

Huge portions. Take-out or dine-in. We always take out, but use the sauce on the tables to put extra on our rice. The rice is delish. The whole meal comes with a salad.
