We've recently become regular guests of Beck's after failling in love with their Filet Mignon and Calamari. The most surprising piece is the prices, given that at other steakhouses you could pay twice as much for the same thing or be forced to go ala carte. However that is not the case here as you always get a nice starter salad (I love the cinammon apple they include) and a wonderful tasting potato cake and vegetables. We also always order the calamari, as the sauce is some of the best. Granted the service can be off on some nights, but overall it has been good and the atmosphere has a better vibe than most of the chains you find in Redmond. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great steaks on the Eastside.
Pros: Great Steaks & Calamari
Cons: Hidden Location

It took some persuading to get my husband to try Beck's (it's a bit of a hole-in-the-wall), but my persistence paid off. It has become one of our favorite places to eat. Their steaks are always perfectly cooked and accompaniments well prepared. Their house salad is delicious with a chunky blue cheese dressing, candied almond slivers and a seared apple slice. With the salad included in the dinner price, Beck's is a great value and can hold its own against any steak restaurant on the Eastside.
Pros: food, seating availability

It's not like this place to have "bad nights", but all resaurants are subject to a night here or there that just doesn't click. Becks is awesome in every way. Steaks are tender and taste great and the service is just what one should expect from a family steakhouse. We eat there at least twice a month and yet to have an experience that would turn us away. I would personally reccomend that the individuals who noted a less-than-perfect experience, try it again. This time don't be such snobs. If you feel that you get what you pay for, this is not the place for you. Here, you get twice as much. The helpings are generous and you don't have to order a salad ala carte'; it comes with the meal. And last but not least, ask to say "hi" to the owner...She'll sweep you off your feet with her personal attention. Enjoy!

I have been to all of them, Ruth's Chris, Daniels and Jaks in Issaquah. The meat is way better than Jaks. The cost is less than Ruth's Chris and the steaks are better. 9 oz Filet for 28.00 and that includes salad or soup, potato and veg. The only weak spot was the service staff. They are not pros but college age kids who mean well but don't always get it right. They are, however, well meaning and cover for mistakes by comping drinks or desert. All in all, a great deal and outside of the Metropolitan Grill (where the same size filet will cost 60.00) the best deal around. A truly enjoyable evening. Go see them in Redmond, call for reservation and lot's of street parking.
Pros: Great steak and prices
Cons: Service

I ordered well-done NY steak: came burnt (most likely they didn't clean the grill before) and bitter, medium rare. The waitress implied that it is supposed to be that way (BBQed), but offered anyway to cook another one: made me feel that I'm a picky customer and they really didn't do anything wrong. The hot green tea was not hot, mashed potatos were over-salted. The fish (halibut) was good but nothing to rave about. Maybe it was the end of the day (Saturday) for them, but that's what happened.
Pros: Romantic place; fish is good
Cons: Steaks were pretty bad

The atmosphere is pleasant but not ritzy, so it's a good middle-ground place to go when you want great food without the pretentiousness. They have some outdoor seating, which is nice in the summer. The staff is also extremely friendly. I'm surprised by the review I read that mentioned poor service. It must have been a fluke, because I've never experienced the same. Beck's is a great place to meet with clients or dates.
Pros: Food, service

The service was absolutely the worst ever. Our waiter was dumb as a bag of rocks. He got our steaks mixed up not to mention neither were cooked as requested. The second glass of wine we requested never came and the other wait staff were just simply snobby for whatever reason when asked for something. The atmosphere was less than desireable and the food is way overpriced considering the steak had so much fat on it. I would not reccomend this place to my worst enemy.

Great food & service, but the place smells like a frathouse basement. Everything appeared to be clean though. Perhaps it's because the building is old.
