Being long time customers of their nursery, we hired Classic for a landscaping project.
We couldn't be more pleased.
Recently retired and avid gardeners, we wanted a larger patio area to enjoy our plantings and entertain guests. Ours is a contemporary home on an acre lot in a wooded setting, and we wanted something that would complement our surroundings.
At our initial meeting with owner Alan Burke he quickly saw the potential for our site. Working within our projected budget he built on our "general idea" to a more detailed design that included features we hadn't considered. The final plan comprised a beautiful patio using earth-toned pavers in unique patterns, a small bordering wall of "dry-stacked" slate rock, a large wooden arbor over the seating area, a waterfall feature, plantings from their nursery, and lighting. Topping it off was a flagstone path meandering to a garden area.
The entire project went very smoothly. Classic's workers were like craftsmen, with great attention to detail. Reflecting Alan's hands-on professional approach, glitches were resolved promptly, and creative agreed-upon special touches added or substituted as work progressed--all within budget and on schedule.
As we continue to enjoy our new outdoor area, we get the occasional "Who did you use?" question. We're not at all hesitant to recommend the people at Classic.

We are pretty demanding of contractors and design people and rarely take the time to advocate on sites like these. Sander Groves deserves the time to promote them. They are very professional and thorough. They are not cheap but you get what you pay for. We established a budget that was respected throughout the project. Work was done on time with extra details and finishing touches uncommon from their competition. With all respect to John L above, our yard has never looked better and to rate Sander Groves simply average is a joke. They are extremely good!

If you're looking to add some bamboo to your garden, this nursery is the place to head to. They have a lovely and wide variety of different bamboo plants. If you're not familiar with bamboo, you'll want to talk the nursery staff to find out which variety is right for you--certain kinds can quickly take over your whole yard, and they are not easy to root out. Bamboo Gardens also offers a variety of ornamental grasses and garden ornaments, and their location is a beautiful place to just wander around--paths are carved through the 18+ foot timber bamboo, and it's very relaxing to wander down the paths in the late afternoon sun.

I used to work at the Gray Barn, back in the 80s while in High School. It is interesting to see how it has changed over the years, now with it's 3rd owner. Pacific Top Soils bought the nursery earlier this year and added dirt, bark and rock to the product mix. The Gray Barn now has everything you need to landscape your yard.

I worked with David Cimburek and he did a fantastic job on our new construction project. He even incorporated existing plants and rockery into the new design and made it work. I have recommended David at work as well as to my friends. I would hire David again for future projects. He and his team were wonderful to work with, delivered a high quality of work and got us on his schedule right away. He did a perfect job! I have received so many compliments already from friends and neighbors about his work.

Classic nursery is in northwest Redmond. It carries a very nice selection of perennials. I am a member of their color club (frequent buyer program) and find it of good value. They also tend to sell gift certificates during Mothers' Day at reduced price ($75 for a $100 certificate). Combining this with their regular sale, and you can find some real bargains.
Their staff is helpful and knowledgeable.
