I'm at Kanishka's buffet at least three times a month. The decor leaves something to be desired, but consider the price and you will soon forget such details. Some days are better than others, but they always have fresh nan, raita, at least one creamy dish, and at least a couple of meat (usually chicken) dishes; many Indian restaurants do not! The buffet changes slightly every day, and has so many options that it is literally difficult to enjoy them all, but I admit that I often try! As a precautionary note, I have found that I feel better if I don't load up on starches (rice AND nan) as I eat the many curries, but I still manage to eat until I have trouble walking, because the food is that good. I can't vouch for the dinner.

I have been going to the Kanishka Indian restaurant in downtown Redmond for quite some time. They are consistently good. I usually get take-out (a homebody, I guess!) but occasionally my husband and I can sneak away for lunch and enjoy their delicious buffet. There is one waiter on the staff who is particularly friendly and really enjoys my kids. (Despite the fact that they knocked over a decorative screen one time.) He scolds me if I don't bring the kids with me when I'm picking up our take-out! Bottom line is excellent taste, excellent consistency, great value!

The menu is priced well and all the items are around 10$ or less. The only thing I did not like about this place was the buffet's variety. I go there regularly and often find the same menu items (for buffet). I'd recommend trying this place at least once! if you are in the area.

Their malai kofta and vegetable kurma is really good with the breads ( paratha and roti). Also, their potato paratha is good. and off course its an indian restaurant..

Because the buffet makes it so easy to get in and get out, it's often frequented by largish groups of coworkers.

I worked on the eastside for the better part of 6 years, and the lunchtime buffet at Kanishka is, in my opinion, one of the best in the area. If you get there by 11:30, its easy to get a table and jump right in line. If you get there at noon or later, expect long lines, and probably a wait for a table.
Kanishka has a great variety of veggie and meat options, and I always love loading up on the veggie pakora's and tandoori chicken (on the bone).
I have only been there for dinner once, and they did have a cool special where you can get a meat/veggie "sampler" for about $12 per person. Great way to have a larger variety for a reasonable price.
