Definitely check this place it! It's poppin' Friday and Saturday nights but it's worth it!
Pros: Mad good food, awesome service, adorable staff!
Cons: Busy Saturdays but who would want it slow?

We have had several excellent meals at the Watercress - much better Chinese food than you would normally see on the Eastside.
The salt and pepper chicken, in particular, is really good.

I took my kids to Watercress on my first visit - taking a risk because the decor is most definitely elegant and hip, not like your average asian diner. They said it was the best asian food they ever had! Then I went back with my husband and we really enjoyed it. The spring rolls were my favorite! A lot of restaurants take forever to bring the food - at Watercress the service was prompt. Did I mention the happy hour? ...

I have been here about ten times in the last year and enjoy going there. The two owners usually are on the floor working and you get great service. The food is made fresh every day and is pretty good. It is the best Chinese in that I've had in Redmond. There are a few dishes that I did not enjoy that much, but I highly recommend the lettuce wraps and the war won-ton soup. Both are very good.
Pros:
Very friendly service
They take Microsoft Passport card for big discount
Fresh food
Cons:
some dishes aren't that impressive
Pros: Service

Upon entering Watercress, you immediately feel that you are away from the suburban Redmond strip mall mess. The decor has transformed this space into a place where you want to be. There are several promising delicious dishes, and I plan to sample more. The Wor Won Ton soup is amazing, the Salt & Pepper Shrimp and Chicken...oh yum, and the Chicken Mango, well, I'll definitely be ordering that again! A great restaurant for couples, families and friends!

This is a new restaurant in Redmond and a great addition to the food scene. I had the crab cakes and was so pleased with the delicious flavors, both expected and surprising. So often crab cakes are too fried or too breaded. Not so here. Really tasty! I also had the tofu vegetables and loved the obvious freshness of the vegetables. The honey salmon was amazing! Pardon my generous portion and they have brown rice. Yeah! I appreciated the elegant interior, too. I could see having a special event here.

Updated Chinese. Fabulous fresh flavors; not the typical heavy, (cheap) oily tasting Chinese that is so common in this area. The sauces are made in house and the depth of the flavors reflects it.

I'm not sure what the last reviewer looks for in asian cooking, because my wife and I love Watercress AB! We just moved here from VA (outside DC), and have been searching for a place like this.
We love a kitchen that can provide delicious recipes from Japan, Vietnam, China, etc., and this kitchen delivers wonderful food. Add to that the warm, welcoming presence of Lily (co-owner, who remembers your name after meeting you only once) and beautiful seating areas, and you have a terrific dining experience.
There was one small issue with the dish I had ordered, and it was immediately address and a new dish sent out to the table within minutes.
We have discovered that there are a LOT of mediocre (or worse) asian restaurants in and around Redmond. Watercress does not settle for simply matching them; it blows them away!
As an fyi, neither I nor my wife work at this restaurant (as suggested in the previous review).

I thought the food was just terrible. Are the first four reviewers owners and employees? The potstickers had the taste and texture of frozen grocery products. So too did the green onion pancakes and they seemed to have been deep fried. The shrimp salad rolls had so little shrimp and salad that I couldn't find any. It seemed to be just rice sticks wrapped with rice paper. The pork riblets were passable.
I would not go back.
