I realize if you're only paying $20 for a pedicure, you won't get the same service and attention as you would at a full spa. At Artistic Nails however, I also am not sure about how clean and sterile they are. They gave me a nick when cutting my toenails and then they "shaved" the bottoms of my feet, which I've always understood should not be done for hygiene purposes. Although my toenails looked great, I don't think it was worth risking an infection. There are other local nail salons who are comparable in price and are more health-conscious. more

Rough pedicure 10/24/2005

My mother and I got pedicures in October with the "new management." The techs were very rough--I ended up with a toe infection from the excessive clipping of my cuticle. They also use a very abrasive salt-type scrub on your leg massage--not relaxing at all. I guess for $20, you get what you pay for. We won't be back. more
