When I am going through Redding, this is where I nearly always stop. A very nice park, clea &, well maintained. Staff is very friendly. All sites are pull through and large enough for big rigs. It is not as convenient as some other places might be, but worth the extra time--just a short drive down a service road to get to the entrance.

This is one of the very few motels in Redding that are under $100/night, but it's still overpriced. Tolerable, but not a luxury experience.
The good - Decent included breakfast (donuts, bagels, coffee, tea, cider, oatmeal, juice [although machine was broken on my visit]), free snacks & coffee 24/7, coffeemaker with supplies and hair dryer in room, reasonably clean for a cheap motel, pool, hot tub, and sauna on site, big tv in room.
The bad - extremely thin walls made it hard to sleep, hot tub barely warm & a little dirty, heavy cleaning chemicals smell in room gave me a headache, rooms are a little small and narrow.

I stayed here in January and it was almost 75 degrees outside, we just drove down from washington for the weekend because of the warm weather.. Hotel is decent, I think they rent part of it out to people full time so be prepared for some interesting characters lingering around. The room was basic, nice tv seperate toilet and sink area.. cracks in the walls, all the stuff you would normally find at a 50 dollar a nice dive.. but nice staff and an awesome location, right downtown redding, close to all the bars and dining. would stay there again. and would recomend only if your up for an adventure and willing to get past cosmetics to save some money and be in a great location.
Pros: Right downtown Redding
Cons: microwave in the bathroom??

The motel itself is fine, it is nice, clean, easy freeway access and close to mall / shopping, but the front office staff on more than one visit leaves something to be desired. For instance, I couldn't get through to my relatives staying there because the motel had no record of them being there, despite the fact that I dropped them off and they didn't have a car. Thankfully they eventually came outside and we met up, because I never got anywhere with the desk clerk!

I would steer clear of this marina. There houseboats are old and dumpy looking. They charge top of the line prices for sub par equipment. They do have one of the lowest water boat launches on the reservoir though and the largest marina store. I would recommend the store but not the houseboat rentals.

What a dive. We have regularly stayed at Best Westerns - never again will I stay or recommend this one. To start the lady at the desk was rude and short fused. I asked to see the room and she said, "yoo'll have to stay here now, it is too late to cancel." I insisted to see where we were going to stay. I'm glad I did! What a mess - the comforter was wrinkly and stained. There was a smell that smelled damp and musky. I said no way. She insisted that the room was clean. It wasn;t and I wasn't having my family stay.
We went next door to the Travelodge and what a difference. No to mention their price was better. By far their rooms were much better. Night and day difference,
Pros: Next door to the Travelodge
Cons: You name it - Bad news - can't believe it's a Best Western

While there are no 4 star hotels in Redding, the Holiday Inn on Hilltop is definately one of the better hotels in the area. The interior is the basic decor you would find in any other Holiday Inn, but it is clean and well-kept. We were pleased with the service during our stay. For example, when we needed a refrigerator in our room, one was brought to us immediately and at no charge to us. There is ample parking outside. Hilltop is not the most scenic area since it is the business section, but it is in close vicinity to many restaurants and businesses.

I always stay at the Howard Johnson when I visit Redding. I currently have my Mom and Grandmother living there, so when I visit I like to have a central location to stay. I have found that the Howard Johnson on Bechelli is that location. They have great service, and very clean rooms. I have always been happy with the service I have received there. They have a good continental breakfast, and an open pool. This location is always very quite, and is a great location to evening activites, and restaurants.

The room was very clean; although they promoted wireless Internet service, it wasn't available in my room. I had to go to the front desk and retrieve a cable for on line hook up.
Room service is only available after five.
The place is quiet so sleep is easy.
The pool is the size of a large tub -- I couldn't quite tell the difference between the jacuzzi and the pool -- both about the same size.
There is a fitness center; but if you are a die-hard workout jock, you'd break the equipment.
