My family loves Turtle Bay! Although we don’t live nearby, we sometimes drive down I-5 to see relatives, and we always plan a couple of extra hours to stop at Turtle Bay. The grounds are really extensive. There is a great museum that has lots of fun, hands-on things for the kids, a vast garden area, great playground, a nice little café, some animals, and an amazing suspension bridge over the river that is a working sundial. It is truly an amazing place. The only downfalls I can think of are that it is a bit pricy (I think around $10 admission for adults) and that Redding is so stinkin’ hot in the summer. Turtle Bay is definitely a place that adults and kids will both enjoy.

I have been going to the golf department for the last 2 years. My experience has always been more then pleasurable, due to their highly experienced golf specialist (Chad Breedlove). His knowledge is higher then any pro shop I have visited. Through the last two years Chad has not only become my regular salesman, but a friend as well. He is not only a scratch golfer, but often helps me with many aspects of my game without any hesitation. I drive from Chico, which is over an hour away to seek his world class knowledge about golf products. I would highly advise anybody that is seeking a better understanding of golf products or the game of golf to stop by and talk to Chad. It is well worth the hour drive and i leave every time sastisfied with the experience I had at the golf department and with Chad!!

This place is totally awesome! It really is 3 adventures in 1. You start off with a catamaran boat ride across Lake Shasta. Then you dock at the base of the caverns. Hop into an air-conditioned mini bus, and then you are off for your ride up the side of the mountain. Once at the top, you start your foot tour of the caverns. The caverns, themselves, are a bit small…but still well worth the sight (especially if you’ve never been in a cavern before). The formations inside are truly amazing! And so is the view while driving up the mountain. Make sure you have your camera ready because the lake below is an awesome sight! Make sure you have your walking shoes on though, there are LOTS of stairs to climb inside the cavern. They also offer a dinner cruise, but we didn’t partake in that.

We purchased two boats from Harrison's Marine when I was growing up. The first boat was a used boat, which we ended up trading in for a brand new custom made Sea Ray. That was in 1991. My Dad still til this day has the boat, and will not sell it. This boat has some hours on it, but is still in terrific shape. When purchasing the boat, the staff at Harrison's Marine went out of their way to make sure my younger brother and I were ok while my parents went through the purchasing papers. Not to mention, our boat is fantastic!

Can’t vouch for the tobacco part of this but the brew (as in coffee) here is great. This is one of the few places in town that has consistently had great gourmet coffee. I love going in here just to smell the great scents. A great place to go Christmas shopping. Check it out you will not be disappointed.

I have some great memories at Viking Skate Country. Not only did I take lessons here, and could not figure out the skating concept, but this where my first "date" happened at a very young age. I remember being dropped off here with my little boyfriend by my Mom to have a great time skating, even he remembers the time. This place had all night skates for all ages which were also a blast.

I would highly recommend going in as you start your holiday shopping, I seem to find something that is perfect for everyone that I know, much to the demise of my pocketbook.
