I wouldn’t know how to quantify what type of store this is, as the merchandise is so widely varied. They have things that you forgot existed! The clothing is quite unique, and they offer lunchboxes, books, a photo booth, trinket items, incense, soap cut to your preference, shoes, and more. Very strange mix, indeed. Expensive.

This is one of my favorite stores to visit. They literally carry everything you can imagine, and everything you never knew existed! They are a department store in the sense that they carry clothing and knick knacks, but nothing else in this store is like a standard department store The clothes are funky and offbeat. The knick knacks are insane! They carry brands such as Paul Frank, Dickies, and Emily Strange. Even if you don't plan to buy anything, you should visit just to walk around and experience the store.

Where to begin about one of the coolest stores on Broad Street? Do I talk about the retro photo booth where you and three of you closest friends can jam in ala Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants style. How about the make your own t-shirt bar they have set up where you can design your very own t-shirt to your specifications. Or even about the funky dresses with ethnic tones they have. This store is totally funky.

This store is absolutely amazing. It is filled with knicknacks of all sorts from silly books to apparal to gag gifts. It is such a fun store to visit and to play around in for a little while. It is a classy version of a spencers but with a much more trendy feel. I make sure to stop in this store everytime I stroll down Broad Street in Red Bank!

Funk & Standard is one of the beautiful oddities that makes Red Bank a great twon to visit. One cannot put a finger on exactly what the store has to offer, but one can at the same time guarantee that everything there oozes chic coolness. Rubber chickens, chocolate soap, pig-shaped hats, and retro lunch boxes... this place has all that and more. Sometimes I feel I'm in a circus sideshow when I browse through the shelves, a kinky museum of the bizarrly junky. But I still love it, and always find something there I simply must own.

Funk and standard is one of the stores in Red Bank, NJ that sets the tone for others to follow.
The people there are always cool and care. They take out full page ads on tricity, the local indepent newspaper.
It has to be one of the few places, outside Ebay, that you can find retro lunchboxes, spam clocks, and just about anything out of the ordinary.

They have some unique items, including some old video games that I would love to buy but aren't for sale....they actually run tournaments on them. They have the Donkey Kong and Ms. Pac Man video game machines...how cool! I'd love to put one in my house. Anyway, otherwise, the selection is a bit eclectic, but well varied. It is pricey for the type of merchandise they carry...they bank on their location to get the prices they charge, but they must do well with the money, as they've been there a while.

So many unusual and unique items....from old-fashioned styles and tv memorabilia, to new-aged funk. This store caters to the non-standard. There are books, soaps, clothing, lunchboxes, goofy toys (silly putty, crazy 8 balls), a photo booth, trinkets, gadgets, and lots of unusual things here. It's name suits the store...it has a variety of items. Not cheap by any means, but if you are looking for that item which is hard to find, you might just locate it here. They have pretty good hours and tend to be open at night so you can even stop in and browse after a dinner. Worth taking a look if you're interested in the unusual...
