We had fabulous service w/ Preston Cudd from Wieland properties. They offer low fees and great service. We started w/ one of their well-known competitors and dropped them when we realized we were paying way too much (6%) for lousy service. Wieland's fee is only 3.9% and they offered the same services, but with better quality. We have already decided that when it is time to move again, we will be calling Preston!

You know what? The store in Raliegh was fantastic. I just so happened to visit NC from New York. I ended up purchasing 6 pairs of shoes. The service was extremely courteous and not intrusive. I stayed as long as I liked with little pressure and superb help. The workers were knowledgable and lovely. The only drawback is that there is no way to order on-line and now that I am in New York, I am not able to make purchases.
Pros: great spacious environment
Cons: lack on-line ordering services

The deli at Whole Foods Market is a great place to grab lunch with a friend. I prefer the indoor seats, but there is outdoor seating (a little too close to the smell of cars going by a few feet away for me). There are a variety of items available, all in the "whole foods" vein (where else can you get tofurky?). Even to a confirmed meat-eater, the selections are excellent and the food is always fresh and lovely. Be sure to try the desserts - they're awesome! They offer take-away from the deli as well, which is great for a picnic or just as an alternative to all the fast food over on Western.

Best grocery/gourmet food store in Raleigh; different foods in bakery, hot bar, salads all the time. The panna cotta (in the bakery) is outstanding, when it's available. Seafood soupbar is great, particularly the New England Clam Chowder and the Crab Chowder with potatoes and corn. Friendly, helpful staff, for the most part. (The staff in the bakery seem to stand around talking to one another a lot when you are at the counter waiting, having already caught their eyes). I have to throw that in because it happens about 50% of the time, to me, at least. But, otherwise, it's a great place with great food...and they DO have meat; everything isn't vegetarian.
Pros: central location; good quality & variety
Cons: parking; bakery staffs' "customer service"

I have been going to these guys since I moved here in 2004. There have been occasions when most other mechanics and dealerships would have taken me to the cleaners but, the mechanics at White-Wall are honest, dilligent and prudent. I have gotten to know Jimmy (the owner) and Roger (my mechanic). They take the time to explain what is going on with my car, give me pretty accurate quotes, get the job done in a reasonable amount of time and get the job done right. Even for a fluid change or tune up, they do a SUPER job at a great price. They inspect my car as well. If you get your vehicle worked on at White-Wall you will walk out a happy camper. Roger is friendly and is down right caring about my needs and that of my car. You will not get nickeled and dimed and they will certainly not tell you that your car needs something it doesn't. Over all, I have been very happy with the service I get from White-Wall. It is so hard to find a mechanic you can trust. These guys are trustworthy.
Pros: Trustworthy, in time, reliable and inexpensive

This place has been a cornerstone for the Triangle LGBT community since before anyone can remember. It's continued survival is great to see, even in this day and age where many people buy books, CDs, DVDs, etc, online instead of in a store. But you just can't replicate online the service, selection and sense of community you get in this longtime Raleigh institution. Downtown Raleigh without White Rabbit is something I'd hate to see! This place definitely deserves community support.

White Rabbit is a great bookstore in the Triangle to pick up gay and lesbian themed cards. When you want to purchase a slightly risque card, but don't want to go to some skeezy porn store this is a good place to begin your search. They have a good deal of other gift items (besides cards) as well so you can usually find a good gift, if you're looking for one.

We have been going there since my fist child was born 6 yrs ago. I have not one complaint from that entire time. We have seen all the doctors and love them all. They remember you and take time with you. The nurse line always returns calls quickly and answers questions thoroughly. The nurses are great and the office staff is friendly. We never wait for our appointment time. We have actually never waited longer than 15 minutes for a walk-in appt. They have Sat and Sun hours. Can't say enough!
