I have been a client at Modern Enhancement for about 2 years and I can't imagine ever going anywhere else. Their front desk staff is so wonderful. They're always so pleasant and efficient when I call to make an appointment. Abby, their new Manager is such a great addition. I just love her! She remembered to ask me about a trip I had gone on, just sweet as can be. I would recommend anyone try them out, you will be hooked! Customer service is so hard to come by anymore and to go into a place where they not only remember your name, but they remember your husband and kids names is so wonderful! I love you girls!- Michelle

I always picture chinese restaurants as dirty McDonalds type looking places, with chinese food instead of nuggets. PF Changs is an upscale sit down chinese resturant with absolutly fantastic chinese, and a great waitstaff. I have really enjoyed the trips I have made here, and would reccommend anyone whowant to try something a little different give them a try.

My family been there several times never been nothing but impressed with the flavor of their Meals. Service is good and attentive. Place is a little pricey but sometimes we pay more for things that we view as good. Pizza is just ok.. stick with the pasta dishes!

We went to this restaurant and was completely blown away by it!!.. Once you step inside you forget you are in Raleigh, I dont know how they come up with the decor but it is very cool.. We did have to wait for our table but I guess that just shows how popular this place is.. We got our 'Gold' margaritas and sat outside and waited for them to call on us, we were given a toy instead of taking our name, just another unique and cool thing about this place..
Once we did get to our table, the server was very friendly, she told us about the menu and the special then gave us adequate time to relax.. I got the Steak Tacos which had been highly recommended to me by a friend, they were SO right!.. If you go you HAVE to get them!.. Have read some of the other comments, i agree it is not cheap but then again, if it was I very much doubt it would be anywhere nearly as good as it is..
Overall i would say you MUST go and check it out..

Judging by the tone of the review below, I think the attitude problem lay with the diners. We order takeout from ShabaShabu almost weekly, and dine in about once a month. The staff are always courteous and the sushi is fresh, well-presented and (most importantly) delicious!
Last time we were there we ordered a bottle of wine that turned out to be unavailable that day. Our waiter, who was very personable and enthusiastic, recommended a similar offering... it was more expensive, but they charged us the price of the bottle we originally wanted, saving us around $10. Overall, the prices are very reasonable; I'm not sure why, but sushi in Raleigh tends to be WAY overpriced in general. I've been to pretty much every sushi place in town, and the quality you usually get at a comparable price is terrible (I'm looking at you, Sushi Blues).
I don't really like Thai, so I can't speak for that half of the menu, but the Japanese offerings are stellar. The seaweed salad is the best I've had anywhere. Try the Hurricane roll, Yummy roll, or good old-fashioned Futomaki. For dessert, try the green tea ice cream. You won't be disappointed : )
Pros: Best sushi place in Raleigh, with courteous service!

Me and a girlfriend went to Jibarra about three weeks ago. The place is awesome! Gorgeous decor, exciting Mexican food, upbeat music, and friendly staff.
We sat in the high tables area, and started out with some tasty margaritas that our gorgeous Hispanic waitress recommended to us. The two exotic flavor margaritas we tried came with an edible orchid. What beautiful presentation! We had the salada completa, which was a wonderful salad to share. Then took another great recomendation to eat the Conchinita Pibil appetizer. This food is special, and the margaritas are addicting!!
After our meal, we moved to the bar to have some more margaritas, and bartender was very corteous and knowledgeable about the tequilas.
We took some pictures with the tequila tower behind us to share with our friends our awesome find in downtown Raleigh!
I'll become a regular for sure!

First off, let me say, if your only experience with Sushi Blues is 1/2 price night, and you didn't know exactly what you were getting into, please, please, please keep the whining to yourself. If you don't want to wait some extra time to get your sushi very cheap, most of you are all quick to point out that there are plenty of alternatives. If you have a large party, guess what, you'll wait longer, and you'll watch smaller parties get seated before you, deal with it, most restaurants work this way. If you pester the hostess about getting seated, they will get irritated with you, they have four other parties just like you, all asking when they'll be seated, and all angry at her personally. They have been trained in the routine for 1/2 price nights, they know what they're doing, and no, the manager probably will not kiss your a** and give you free things just for complaining loudly enough. If you do ask, be nice, and polite, the hostess can estimate for you, but she doesn't need your expert restaurant managing advice. Once you get seated, know what to expect. You can see how packed it is in there, if your waiter isn't around every three minutes to wipe your a** and refill your water, flag him down and ask him nicely. Yes, they do pre-make SOME rolls on 1/2 price night, no, the rolls are not old. They pre-make these rolls for a reason: people order them constantly and they will be gone quickly. It is an attempt to alleviate some of the wait time. If you need your sushi to be painstakingly rolled, appraised, and shipped to you with a certificate of authenticity, do not come on 1/2 price night. This sushi is made quickly for people who want to eat it quickly. If this is not what you want, there is a wonderful sushi place nearby called Sono, they make delicious, attractive rolls, have a great atmosphere, excellent service, and are 4 times the price.
Now, if you want good sushi for cheap, and are prepared for the wait, Sushi Blues is awesome. If you put your name on the list an hour early, you WILL get seated at a reasonable time. Do what I do, walk to a bar (there are many nearby) or sit at their bar, drink a few beers, come back in an hour, viola, you're seated in 10 minutes. If you have a large party (more than 5), split it up into two to cut your wait time in half, they will even try their best to seat your parties close together. Be friendly, polite, and understand that for the waiters(tresses) and hostesses 1/2 price nights are hell, and they are probably stressed off their a**es. Come prepared for the experience, and 1/2 price night is great sushi for a great price.
On regular nights, the atmosphere is much more mellow: quieter music, far fewer people, and, of course, shorter waits. You can order entrees and get all kinds of delicious extras. Before you order, you'll get a small noodle bowl, and they give you ginger salad and miso soup before your meal. They make a delicious seaweed salad as well. Their non-sushi menu items are mid-range in price ($10-15 for most items, more for hot ticket items like steak and lobster) and are delicious. Well, that's it, good eating!
Pros: Very tasty sushi menu, good value
Cons: Sushi snobs may sneer at this place...apparently.

I grew up eating authentic Thai food, as we have a family friend from Thailand. So needless to say, I'm pretty discriminating when it comes to Thai food. Sawasdee is the best place in the Triangle for Thai (that I've tried). I'd surprisingly never had Drunken Noodles before, but I can tell you when I get them at other places, they definitely don't compare. I don't find the price for Thai to be expensive here, in fact its one of the cheapest Thai restaurants I've been to in Raleigh. The decor is bright and inviting, although the place is small. I find it to be a romantic place, but I can see where others wouldn't. Their spice levels seem to be higher here than at other Thai places, so make sure you talk to your server about the heat levels if you don't like it spicy (they'll change it for you).
Pros: Interesting decor, excellent food, noninvasive service
Cons: Its hard to spot from the road on your first time

We visit P.F. Chang's where ever we go. Something special about this one at the Crabtree Mall in Raleigh. The food is fantastic as always, but the service and atmosphere is even more incredible. Great servers, but it must be the managers in the background. We eat there at least once or twice a month. We are glad to have picked Raleigh for our retirement home. We like the country living, but what a great city to live near.

I am an experienced hair colorist/ cutter/ stylist and I am hypercritical of other people's work.(although I usually keep it to myself) And I think Alexa does the best work I've EVER seen! She is not only creative and innovative but she is also technically superb at everything she does! She is very good at helping you create a fantastic look that fits with your lifestyle. She's also very cool to talk to and she will make you feel extremely relaxed in her confidant hands! Her prices are very reasonable for the quality of the service you will receive. She will give you her undivided attention for as long as it takes, yet she still manages to stay on schedule because she doesn't overbook herself like so many stylists do. Boylan Heights Studio has a very relaxed atmosphere. It's in a funky old building in Boylan Heights at 1106 West Cabarrus St. near downtown. All of the stylists that work there are good at what they do and it is a fun place to get your hair done. Alexa however, isn't just good...she is the BEST! I've watched her work on several occasions and every time I ask someone in this area who did their hair (because I think it looks great) they always say ALEXA at BHS! Check her out!
