The service was OK, and there was nothing bad about any of my food.
Cons: lackluster food, not a value

I became a regular at Champa pretty quickly...they had GREAT food, and the buy one get one free sushi deal couldn't be beaten.
Yesterday, I took a visiting relative there with my husband. We ordered lots of food, and half of our order was wrong. I'm not the kind of customer who complains and sends things back (after having worked in fast food), so I told them we'd keep what we got as long as the prices didn't change on the bill. Sure enough, we were charged for the accident roll I got (double what my original order cost). I pointed it out to him, and he told me his manager would only let him discount it, and I settled for that. We tipped well and left.
I just checked my credit card, and they ADDED MONEY TO THE TIP. They are CON ARTISTS. This happens frequently at restaurants because people leave a tip on credit and don't check their cards later.
I will never be eating at Champa again, and apparently I'm not alone (see several posts below mine and on previous pages).
EDIT: I called and spoke to the UNBELIEVABLY RUDE manager, who tried to tell me that them changing the tip on my bill was done by the bank. Don't bother thinking about trying Champa...once the police sort this out, they'll be out of business and behind bars.
Pros: Great food
Cons: Theives

We like this restaurant and have returned a number of times, especially on, I believe it is Tuesday night, when there was live jazz. Service is spotty and it can take an age, but usually the restaurant is full, so I guess they are busy.
The food varies in quality and is inconsistent. That said, we have not had a really bad meal there, but sometimes the flavor is not all there. I would not go here purely for sushi, there are many better sushi places, and Champa's sushi is not cheap.
However, the Pad Thai is always excellent and is one of the best examples in the triangle with none of that funky red sauce some of the Thai-fusion places in the area throw on it. It is sweet, sour and savory and quite well balanced.
The Thai tea is also good.
I think the place could be cleaner, however, and the wait staff could be less abrupt and not look over their shoulders the whole time for their next table while taking your order.
With a bit of work this place could be great.
Pros: Thai dishes are quite good
Cons: Consistency / quality / service

Great Sushi and Pad Thai! Good, quick service but there can be a wait at lunch at dinner because it is a pretty popular place. Highly recommended

i went here last night and thought it was pretty average. the presentation of the food is nice and the service is really friendly, but the food itself is just all right--not worth the high prices especially with the portion sizes. you won't leave hungry but you won't have any leftovers either. the items i really like here are the pad kao and basil fried rice, but even those i don't think are worth the money--$13 at restaurant for a plate of rice i can make at home? as for the sushi, ive had it here a few times and it's decent. in general id say this is a good place to take a date, and it's definitely one of the better options at brier creek (though that's not saying much). but if you're looking for an authentic family-style thai meal or lots of good sushi then go elsewhere.
Pros: Friendly service, good for a date
Cons: overpriced, no reservations for groups under 6

I've been to Champa over 10 times. The reason I stopped going is because of the inconsistency. The sushi is really good sometimes and just so so other times. The service can be really good. There is one waitress that knows us by name and if we are seated in her section then all is well. Otherwise, it's very slow and my husband who orders Thai always gets his food way earlier (sometimes 15 min) than I get my sushi. It's as if there are two separate restaurants. I love their lobster rolls and the prices are very comprable and the place is so convenient. .. and yet my husband and I often will pass it up. When they have music in there, it's too loud. We've received poor service here and there and really for the price we would simply rather go to Sushi Thai in cary. Sushi Thai can get very busy but they are always hustling to get you your food as soon as possible. There is always some wait when you order sushi at ANY restaurant because they are hand made but at Champa it is AGAIN in consistent. It's very frustrating. I know on Sat. nights at Waraji I can not be in a hurry the same with Sushi Thai. But if the food and service is excellent you mind less. When even the food is inconsistent you worry.
Pros: Great signature rolls, great Thai food
Cons: inconsistent in every way.

We are regulars at this restaurant and every time we are very pleased with the food. As we are not the pickiest customers in terms of service and don?t like servers jumping around us too much, I have never noticed the staff being unprofessional as the other reviewer mentioned. The food, mainly sushi, is what we go there for and are always pleased with the quality and selection. The service is fast, so it is our favorite place for lunch, as we work in RTP. I would recommend it to anyone, who is not looking for a server standing at their table through the entire meal time. Yes, they are very busy in the evenings, and yes, they are very popular!
Pros: Great sushi

With so many excellent restaurants in the Triangle area I've gotten spoiled with the the "triple threat" restaurants: spectular food, delightful atmosphere and professional staff. In an attempt to make reservations, the male that answered the phone told us "no reservations and expect an hour wait because we are wildly popular". When asked if the wait time could be reduced by arriving early, he responded by saying "I don't have time for this" and hanging up. Given our country's current economic uncertainty and potentially less discretionary spending - I'd rather spend my money where it's appreciated. Not a champ - Champa!
Cons: extremely unprofessional employee
