I usually like to go to Woddys over in City Market. their draft beer is $2.50 all the time so you don't have to worry about there being any kind opf special. they have tons of TV's and what not (I'm not sure if you're a sports fan...but if you are then its the place to be). Their food is halfway decent as well (a rareity in this town in my opinion)

Woodys at City market is a local Raleigh bar situated in the downtown area. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The chairs outside are nailed down though, so don't try to move them, even a smidge. The waitress told us that people were stealing them, so they had to attach them to the tables. For a bar, Woody's has a versatile menu, and even has some healthy offerings.

Woody's is also a pretty good place for a party if you're not looking for something too terribly fancy. they allow you to "rent" the back room out. It is a sports bar, so there are a lot of TVs and such BUT they have some excellent food, the beer is cheap and they have a full bar for mixed drinks. Its downtown on City Market so its pretty easy to get to as well.

How many TVs can you cram into a tiny little bar downtown. Woodys attemppts to answer thatquestion, and the answer is a heck of a lot. i really like going to Woodys to watch a game, and the beer on drfat is always $2.50...which is stellar. their food is also way above par for your typical bar food.

Woody's has great appetizer and drink specials during the week. It is located in City Market close to lots of other bars and restaurants plus Moore's Square, Exploris and IMAX. The food I have had at all three Woody's locations has all been very good. They have a menu of diet friendly choices and it's one of the most extensive menus I have seen at a casual bar/restaurant. They also have a pool table, plenty of seating in the bar area near the bands and an abundance of TVs. Considering it's in downtown Raleigh, the free parking is easy to find and a couple of parking garages are very close.
