I order out from this place, a few months back, the pasta w/sauce. I ask the manager to 'double bag' my meal out of fear that the food would leak through the paper bag. He got an attitude and was gonna charge me for 1 extra stupid plastic recycle bag!!!!! Give me a freak'n break. As a patron, I'm putting money in your restuarant by dining there and then you're going to get an attitude & charge me because i ask for a extra plastic bag to cover my food???? Needless to say I WILL NEVER dine at this place again. The manager is a major old jerk who speaks poor English

Order a couple pizza slices. Pizza was okay, not great though. Price was okay for the slices. Service was terrible. After receiving tea and then pizza, was ignored. No one ever came back to see if needed anything else, even more tea. Fortunately, saved money by not leaving a tip. No good service, no tip. Especially if no one even comes back to see if you need more drink. None of the wait staff were very friendly, including the guy checking us out at register. A shame really, nice atmosphere, price for slices and location, but wouldn't return there cause of the service. To many other nice places.
Pros: Nice atomsphere, good price pizza slices, okay pizza
Cons: Bad service!

Honestly this place has the best Italian food in North Carolina-I've lived in Charlotte and they def. dont have anything close. I travel a lot for work and have been to Italy and NY and this is the closest to Italian family style you will get. there are some not great reviews on here but i think with every place you will get your complainers who dont understand how places operate and if you give them a chance you will be very impressed. they have great outdoor seating and its a great place to go before a play or event downtown Raleigh. Mario the owner and his sons and daughters who run the place are very friendly and will give you great advice about the menu. If you haven't tried Vic's you need to. They can be very busy for lunch and dinner on the weekends but any great place is! Great food and you wont break the bank.
Pros: Great wine list and menu
Cons: Can be busy at times

WE had a coupon - which they would not honor. They claimed they did not know about it. My pasta came and it was cold - so where the roasted peppers and artichokes. The waitress did not come back until my husband was done with his meal and when I told her - she asked if I wanted something else. I said yes and ordered another pasta dish and then the owner's son or the new owner came over and said my dish was not hot and he would not make another dish. I spoke to Vic - who argued with me too that his son was right and my dish was not cold and he actually told me not to come back and guess what folks - if you are smart and especially if you are Italian - DONT EAT HERE - rude service - rude people and cold food.........

I have gone to VIc's plenty of times before and have never had a problem at all! Not even a little one! The atmosphere is chill, really great. The service is absolutely fantastic.... waiters are outgoing and attentive! Much unlike somewhere else I've been in the same area (Woody's).. they are respectful and actually know what they are talking about. The food is flavorful and great. I adore this place, the staff especially, the food, and everything else about it. I always tell friends, "if you want a great start to a great night, go to VIc's." I will continue to go to Vic's!
Pros: Everything.
Cons: You can never get enough!

This is the best dining experience we have had in Raleigh (The Lotus Leaf is in Cary). We stumbled on the restaurant when family was visiting from CA for graduation. We had reservations for dinner elsewhere, but Michael, the owners son, did such agood job for lunch we cancelled and came back for dinner. The calamari was tender, the best I've had. The service was top notch. Vic's can deliver a pizza night experience or a rich Italian menu. If you want a good laugh and have a good sense of humor ask about the birthday card about the Italian coming to America.
Pros: Tremendous
Cons: Uhhhh, nothing

I hate to give this restaurant 1 star because it has a lot going for it. Great food, reasonable prices, good location, and good service. I have visited this restaurant about 6 times. The day after one visit my mother got very ill. We gave Vic's the benefit of the doubt, thinking that maybe she got it elsewhere. But, the next time I went to Vic's, I was ill the next day as well. No doubt about it now. It is not worth the risk of illness, which is really bad.
Pros: Great food, good service, reasonable prices
Cons: Made family sick on two occasions

This restaurant is a perfect place to go to when you want to bring family to town or to hang out with a friend for a laid-back dinner. The food is real, authentic Italian and it is absolutely amazing every time we eat there. Every time we go, we ask for Michael to wait on us. It is his father's restaurant but he always takes charge and actually cares about every table he has. He is personable and whatever you want, he will get it for you immediately. This is a family-oriented restaurant and it is cozy, comfortable and delicious. We love it!
Pros: great food, great service
Cons: parking is limited downtown

I went to Vic's with my fiance and two friends on 2/10/07. I ordered the penne dell'ortolano, which has black olives. When it arrived with kalamata olives, that was OK. But when I took a bite that had an olive, I bit down on an olive pit. I was in a lot of pain. I talked to the waiter and was surprised that he didn't bring it to the manager's attention. I asked to speak to the manager, and when he came to our table several minutes later, I explained what had happened. He said, "It has olives, so of course it will have pits." I told him I was worried that I might have cracked or broken my tooth. I asked if I could have his business card, and he became very angry and said there was nothing he could do. He walked away from the table in the middle of our conversation. My fiance, friends and I could not believe how belligerent he was. I was simply asking for his help. My tooth hurt for the rest of the night and for several days after. It still hurts now when I eat something hot or cold. If the manager had simply listened to what I had to say without getting angry, I wouldn't have left with such a bad taste in my mouth. We will never eat at Vic's again.
