I am particuarly fond of drinking coffee. One of the best features of this theater is my opinion is the ability to bring in a cup of coffee from the cup of joe next door. They won't allow in any otehr outside food and drink but for sonmereason they allow this coffee which makes me a happy movie patron. The theater itself is nothing special, but not as croweded as larger multi-plex's on the weekends.

Mission Valley Cinemas is probably my last choice of cinemas in the area. It's relatively dirty and, though they offer a student discount ($4.50 tickets), the $1.50 Blue Ridge Cinema is much nicer. They do offer beer on tap and will let you bring in drinks from Cup of Joe next door. Really, the only reason to go to this theatre is if you live on campus and don't have a car and you *have* to see a particular movie first run. Otherwise, spend the extra dollar or two to go to Crossroads, or just wait til it hits the Campus Cinema or Blue Ridge.

one of the reasons this theater is so sad - Yes it is a theatre with great stadium seating - but the sound often bleeds over from the movie next door, the parking is a nightmare, the tickets are overpriced, management seems to be invisible and yes, Virginia, the popcorn really is the worst in Raleigh --- with good popcorn, I can almost forgive the other faults....

Mission Valley is one of the best places for North Carolina State University students to got to a movie. The prices are normally dirt cheap as far as new movie cinemas go, and they have a student discount. The seats are really comfortable too, but they probably should clean them more often than they do, just be careful when you sit down.

I took an old lfriend here for one of our early dates and she liked the surprise. How often do people nowadays get to go to a drive through? If you want to see a blockbuster go to AMC, but if you want to see a regular movie and laugh at the fact that you can buy popcorn, soda and a gun at the same time this is the place. Try it out and tell your friends.
They always play the newest releases which is great. The only thing we find "different" is the way they sell "other" products at the consession stand. It makes for a somewhat uncomfortable stay! There is a good selection of food to choose from, but everything almost has the same taste, but it is still edible.

Mission Valley Cinemas is operated by the same people who run The Rialto and The Colony, so lots of the pluses are the same: beer on tap, student discounts, non-corporate atmosphere. The main difference is the number if screens (four) and the type of movies they show (mostly mainstream/popular films). The screens are bigger than you'd expect, so it's a great place to see action/blockbuster movies. Unlike The Rialto and Colony, there's an ATM in the lobby in case you didn't bring enough cash.
