My wife and I dont regularly get the chance to go out on a "date" anymore so when we do we want it to be very special. The folks at Midtown and Bar 115 definately made it just that for us on Saturday Night. The weather was perfect for grilling out but we opted to dine out instead. The service on the patio was superb!! Great wait staff and management. Even the chef came out to check on us, where else do you get this kind of service. We had the best mussels ive ever had, my wife never had Gnochi and shes already wanting more. The management was very attentive as well, as the temperature dropped they were asking if we wanted to have the patio heaters turned on. Very Special place and great staff too. Dont miss out on this hidden gem.
Pros: Staff, Product Knowledge, Wine List

If your looking for Fresh done right with nothing overdone or over emphasized here it is. This place a has a small menu in comparison to other local restaurants. HOWEVER I prefer this style because of the five things we tried all of them were spot on. The ability to match any entree with a sauce makes for endless possibilities and endless flavor. It isn't the easiest place to find but well worth it. Well Done Guys.
Pros: Excellent Ambiance, Great Flavor
Cons: Hard to find at first

This place is the best! Great bar menu with the best staff in the Triangle. If you want to chill and watch the State game, come to this place. No beers on tap but plenty of choices in the bottle at amazing prices. Also has the best bacon in town, its nice and crispy. The hot sauce is da jam also. Just go there. Trust me.
Pros: bacon, hot sauce, megatouch
Cons: no beer on tap

Just order at the counter, come get it when it's ready and enjoy! At the upper edge of the Lake Boone shopping center, just down from Rex Hospital, 2nd City is not fast food nor is it an over-priced hotel breakfast buffet. Choose between a traditional fresh, country-style breakfast or breakfast sandwiches, served quickly with homemade biscuits and serve-yourself beverage and coffee refills. Very reasonably priced; Highly recommended.
Pros: Fresh, well prepared country breakfast
Cons: Can't think of one

After reading the previous review I have come to the conclusion that the review was written by a former employee who was terminated or a jealous competitor with nothing better to do than to hate on another restaurant.
We have lived in the raleigh area for 20 + years and have always enjoyed our experience at 42nd Street. We try to make it there atleast 2-3 a month. The staff has always been very courteous, the food has been delicous and the service outstanding. I find it hard to believe that someone has come here for so long and never enjoyed themself. They have it all. Fun atmosphere, great food and spirits, and a vibrant staff. I would reccomend 42nd Street to anyone looking for it all. If you have to wait for a table, there is a lively lounge for you to grab some cocktails and appetizers while you wait. Just writing this review is making me crave those suculent gulf oysters.
Pros: The whole 9 yards
Cons: Lengthy waits on weekeds - hints , great place to go

I recently went to 42nd Street Oyster Bar & Seafood Grill with a large group from my office. We received great service and everyone enjoyed the delicious food - even the guy allergic to seafood found something he could enjoy! I was feeling a little overwhelmed with all the fried food I'd eaten at the NC State Fair, so I opted for a dish of steamed shrimp and a side salad! Yummy! Of course I stuffed myself to the gills with 42nd's amazing hush puppies. They really are the best I've ever had. They have a full bar and an amazing dessert menu. Hey, even the bathrooms are nice. You will feel comfortable here on a fancy date, or if it's just you and the boys wanting to watch the game. If you go, make reservations as this place fills up fast even on a week night.

518 West serves pretty nice Italian food. It's better than your standard "I could do that at home with a box of pasta and a bottle of sauce" restaurant dishes, but not so out there that you're wondering why they're serving what's on your plate. The building itself is quite fun - a renovated older warehouse-style building with two stories, one open onto the next. I'm a big fan of the desserts - particuarly the gelato sandwiched between two other cookies. I took my best friend here for dinner as a graduation gift and it was the perfect atmosphere for it. I heartily recommend it, but would call up and see if they take reservations.
