Jackie's Desserts is owned and operated by Jacqueline Fabiano. She makes cakes, pies, and more desserts out of her home in Raleigh, NC. The prices are very reasonable and her desserts are professional looking and delicious. I used Jackie to make my wedding cake and the taste and price of the dessert couldn't be beat. She delivers the cake to the location for you so the bride has less to worry about. I have also used her to make cakes for birthdays and special occasions. I highly recommend Jackie for your special occasion desserts.

Cookout has very good burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, hushpuppies, onion rings, and most importantly, Milkshakes!
The food is good. The best deal is the Cookout Tray. For $3.99, you get your choice of eight different main sandwiches/hotdog/etc (I always get the big double burger, which alone would usually be well over $2). Then you get to pick two sides from among fries, hushpuppies, onion rings, corn dog, and chicken nuggets (yes, you can get more meat as a side, ha ha). You get about 1/2 of a regular order (ie, you could order 12 hushpuppies for $1, you get 6 in the tray). You get a large soda or a HUGE tea or, for $0.80 more, you can get a milkshake. They offer dozens of flavors of milkshakes - my favorite is the strawberry cheesecake. You can also combine flavors on the menu, and the people working are always willing to offer more suggestions.
The service is very fast - double drive through, even! With the tray, for just $2 you can add a cookout t-shirt to your wardrobe, a great bit of local kitch.

The Caribou Coffee on Falls of Neuse Road has an outdoor patio that has many tables and seems to be a favorite area for groups to congregate for good reason. The inside of the coffee house is large, clean and welcoming. They offer standard coffee house fare (tea, muffins, etc) as well as bags of their special blends, cards, small candies and mugs. Caribou is my favorite coffee house because the staff is always interesting and chatty and the coffee is some of the best I have ever had.

I was worried about the quality of women that would come to this type of thing. It more than met my expectations. There were some great looking women with great personalities. It was a well rounded group too, so people of all personality types, looks, etc. could meet someone they enjoyed.
Pros: quality women, affordable, great atmosphere

The bar I'd rather be in. I've stopped in and sat next to some college hats and had a grizzly sailor looker on the other side. I keep seeing hot girls hanging out and dancing. Where did all the kick ass bartenders come from?
Pros: hot girls, real music, Djs
Cons: not much

I love playing league there and becoming part of the family. Everyone I know and love is a regular! And also as a serious pool player, I enjoy the competition and playing for the fun of it! The owner always offers to do anything she can to make the customers more comfortable. I even got my favorite beer on draft! I would definitely recommend playing pool here for league, a date, or a night out with friends/family.
Pros: friendly bartenders, good equipment, good people, good draft
Cons: sometimes parking, only microwavable food

I went to Maanjri after several friends mentioned the place to me and I have to admit I was first a little skeptical. There is a cover but wasn't nothing out of the norm but the place was very nice and clean unlike a lot of other places I've been to and the staff was very friendly and on top of that I didn't have to wait too long for drinks. I didn't try the hookahs or anything but it looked very cool. I'll be back for sure. If you haven't checked this place out yet, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a cool place that's not on Glenwood.
Pros: Atmosphere, People, Music
Cons: Parking

LC's Downtown, formerly Sin City, was AWESOME! I finally got to check it out this weekend. It wasn't crowded and I cannot understand why. The place is huge, great bar, great staff, awesome drink prices....
They have couch and bar seating, large open space around the bar, pool tables and great MUSIC. Saturday they were playing rock and roll. Definitely a refreshing experience! Check it out if you are tired of the kiddy klubbin scene.
Brings me back to the days of West End. GREAT SPOT!!!
