I love this bar. It is your friendly neighborhood bar. The bartender will remember you after the 1st time you have been in and the other patrons are friendly. This is the type of place I can go into alone and not worry about every little move I make, people watch out for you in here, especially the bartender. I would say those that have something bad to say are probably the type that complain about everything, or did not like their tab after a whole night of drinking...I say try it for yourself! This has to be the worst sports bar in the area. I've been to a number of places and had bad service, but the girl Carrie that was waiting on us was the absolute worst I've ever seen. She had a really nasty attitude and was not atttentive to us at all. Our food took forever, and she seemed more interested in the guys at the bar who were old enough to be her grandfather than she was in providing us with some decent food and decent service. I've been to a lot of places in my life, but I don't think that I've ever seen someone so rude and unhappy before. I will never go back to this place, and judging from how many empty tables there were, I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who has made that decision. Karaoke is always fun on tuesday and friday. They also had the pool tounments on wed. I really enjoy the bar. I didnt appreiciate the other on hear just trashing a place just cause you didnt get exactly what you want. I cant go to many places and use american express, I mean really how hard is it to use a different card. And does it really matter where the owner came from or what he retired from. oh and the staff is a lot of fun they actually seem to be having fun being there and if your by yourself they usually make you feel at home. When I suggested that he might want to change his policy because it could discourage customers from coming in, he said he was a retired eye doctor and wasn't worried about losing any business..... I love how it is so obvious that the owner is the only one who wrote a stunning review for this place. Believe me, this is probably the last whole in the wall you would ever want to grab a beer in Raleigh. The owner walks around this place with a cigar hanging out of his mouth like he's big cheese. Even when he walks back into the kitchen. All the TV's are at least 15 years old and they are clumped together on chairs and tables. It looks worse than my dirty, unorganized garage. The food is terrible and overpriced. We went there to watch football and left after the first half. The place is always empty and for good reason. I normally give places a fair shake but this place is just ridiculous. I'm suprised its still in business. Don't even waste your time. It is a disgrace!!! Pros: There are a lot of places to eat on nearby Capital Blvd, so you will have some place to go when you leave. Cons: There is not enough room to list all the Cons!!!
