(Brazilian and Cuban w/ some Italian thrown in for good measure) - There might be some issues with the size of the place, even though the owners have recently made renovations, that doesn't stop Oakwood from being one of the best kept secrets in Downtown. The food is absolutely addictive. I started going there on the advice of BlackytheLawyer who knows his food and I must eat there no less than three times a month. I think they must put "coca" in the charrisco steak, its that good.
Plus the wait staff consists of the owners' drop-dead gorgeous daughters, they could not be more attentive, helpful and again, straight up hot.
Go for lunch, if you can get a seat. I promise you, you'll be back two, three times later that month. -Whitey

My wife and I dont regularly get the chance to go out on a "date" anymore so when we do we want it to be very special. The folks at Midtown and Bar 115 definately made it just that for us on Saturday Night. The weather was perfect for grilling out but we opted to dine out instead. The service on the patio was superb!! Great wait staff and management. Even the chef came out to check on us, where else do you get this kind of service. We had the best mussels ive ever had, my wife never had Gnochi and shes already wanting more. The management was very attentive as well, as the temperature dropped they were asking if we wanted to have the patio heaters turned on. Very Special place and great staff too. Dont miss out on this hidden gem.
Pros: Staff, Product Knowledge, Wine List

The food here may not be anything close to authentic, but it's good! We had the jamaican wings, portabello sandwich, the house salad and were impressed with all items.
Service was very friendly and fun, the atmosphere out on the patio is fantastic. Why didn't we come here sooner?
Pros: Reasonably priced mixed drinks
Cons: Menu not exactly authentic to Caribbean theme

We always order take-out. The best cocoa bread, goat meat and oxtails around! My picky eater nephew loves it. Yeah! the same nephew who wouldn't eat tuna, and that's a safe food to eat. Make a date this Friday and stop by the Jamaica Marketplace...you won't regret it!

Virgil & Taffy are the owners and welcome each person as an extended family member. Virgil always has a suggestion when you want to try something new or an authentic beverage to suggest. You just can't go wrong with Taffy's cherry surprise. The delivery service makes it great for downtowners. Visit Jamica often! Try everything, you won't be disappointed!
Pros: Great food, reasonable prices & delivery service
Cons: Take out or pick up only; no sit down

I love the food in this restaurant! They have authentic food on the menu from the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Puerto Rico. I've tried the cuban sandwich, churrasco, mofongo, carne guisada, lechon, etc and loved them all!
Pros: Cuban sandwich, churrasco, etc
Cons: What are the drawbacks?
