Annie Nice has to be one of the nicest Irish (Americans?) living in the Raleigh area. Her restaurant is like being home (in Ireland). The food, the entertainment, the atmosphere and even the patrons who frequent Tir na Nog are worth the trip. Thank you Annie, for bringing a little bit of Ireland to North Carolina!!!
Pros: Great Management
Cons: None

This place is awesome. My wife and I go to dinner or Sunday brunch almost twice a month. The menu is great and has items you won't find anywhere else. Try the mahi with gouda potatoes. The host (who I think is the owner) is professional and always helping out the servers. When friends or clients ask where to go, I always tell them Humble Pie!
Pros: service, food, patio,prices

First off, if you're not familiar with Brazilian steakhouses or Rodizios, you just need to know they're the best kind of steakhouses in the planet. Nothing beats waiters one after the other showing up at your table with SWORDS (they're really huge skewers but Rodizios get me medieval) where impaled steaks of several pounds of the best cuts in the world are to be carved in front of you at your command. It's an endless parade of steak worship not for the faint of heart. I live in southern Maryland and being a Rodizio aficionado myself, the total lack of this restaurant type in my area is very depressing. I was driving to a Friend's weeding in Burlington, NC and having lived in North Carolina for several years in the past I knew I was entering Rodizio territory once more, so I decided to plan my trip to Burlington, making a little detour in Raleigh just to try this Rodizio Steakhouse. Now onto the place itself. Even thou this guys close at 11 pm on Fridays, I walked though the door at 10:45 and was treated just like if it was 7 pm. (Most restaurants give you "a look" and bad service if you do this). The service was INCREDIBLE, the place looked amazing. If you want to impress a lady, this would be a home run. Now, the food. Simply......perfect. The meats were simply out of this world. My favorite Brazilian cut of meat, "picaña" was cooked just the way I requested, with a medium rare center. My wife is more of a "well done" steak kind of girl and they had a completely different skewer sizzling at the mercy of the flames in the kitchen just for her. (Most Rodizios scuff at customers requests of well done meat since this is considered faux pass, and they will simply take a couple of cuts ant throw them on the grill for the customer which ruins the whole experience. I have visited probably 10 Brazilian steakhouses in the U.S. Only at the top 2, Brasa Raleigh being one of them, will they put a separate skewer on the flames for customers who request well done cuts), Like I said in the title, second best Rodizio steak house in the U.S. only topped by the Juggernaut of Rodizios, New York's Time Square area located cathedral of Rodizio, (let alone Number 1 Brazilian steakhouse in the world and personally best restaurant I've ever been to in my life), The Mecca of meat.......... "PLATAFORMA". How close does Brasa come to the holiest of the holiest, Plataforma? Surprisingly close. Steak wise.......and this could be blasphemy....... almost identical. The salad bar at Plataforma is also FAR superior, probably one of the best salad bars EVER, But whereas a meal for two at Plataforma with beers will run you $250 with tips, at Brasa I paid only $100 with tips which is a HUGE difference. Let's put it this way: Plataforma is still reigning champion but if instead of Brasa being located In Raleigh, NC and Plataforma in New York, they were located both across the street from my home in Maryland, 9 our of 10 times I would eat at Brasa, almost the same steak for half the price. I would still treat myself to Plataforma on my birthdays. Now for those of you Maryland residents who are wondering, if you have to drive all, the way to NC or New York for a decent Rodizio experience, don't fret. I also have you covered. You'll find in my opinion which is the 3rd best Rodizio in the U.S. just 45 minutes away in Washington D.C. The name is "Fogo de Chao" a meal for 2 will run you about $140. All in all, in the best value for your category, Brasa Raleigh takes the crown. Now, If you're a Millionaire and own your own jet, fly to New York's Plataforma. But rest assured, Brasa will also give you a run for your money.
Pros: Perfect Rodizio

My husband and I have three small children and get a night out to ourselves about once a month. We always discuss where we're going to go and always end up at the Hibernian! Neither of us are drinkers but we love the atmosphere and most of all the food (the fish and chips are to die for)! It's also great to be able to show up at 6:00 on a Saturday night, be seated right away (almost always at our regular booth), get our food promptly, have a great meal, and be done in time to catch the early movie. Since the bar's not really jumping until later in the evening, it's relatively quiet around dinner time unless there's a big game on. Some reviewers have complained that the waitresses lack "warmth". Personally, I'm glad they're not bugging you all the time! They keep your drink filled, bring what you need, and leave you to enjoy it. I'd rather be talking to my husband, not the waitress! To the owners and staff, keep doing what you're doing and we'll keep coming back! We consider this OUR place!
Oh yeah, I also recommend the potato and leek soup and the chicken cordon bleu!
Pros: Great food! Prompt seating and service! Great atmosphere!
Cons: Parking

This is such a neat dining spot! After a long day of shopping or running errands, eating here really hits the spot because they always have something I am in the mood for. It also works as a great place to stop by and have a drink at after a long day. And don?t even try to use every ounce of your willpower to stay away from the dessert case, you will, and should cave every time.
Pros: Great food, Amazing Dessert

I'm fairly new to Irregardless but like to think I'm becoming a regular. I have been several times now, both for lunch and dinner. My servers have always been helpful in their recommendations, and I've thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes I've tried. The food is fantastic! The owner is very personable and has remembered me and made me feel welcome. I plan on bringing out-of-town friends here for dinner so they can see more of what Raleigh is all about!
Pros: Delicious food, friendly staff, great atmosphere

It has always been a challenge to find a great brunch in Raleigh. I finally found it today. The food was wonderful and service was good. Maybe all of the poor reviews helped, not sure, but I had great service. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. I work in the service industry and my clients always ask me for recommendations on where to go for good food. Sometimes it is hard to think of a place, but I will absolutly be telling everyone about Vin.
Pros: food, drinks, service
Cons: none

We have eaten at Nelson's quite a few times - only at the raw bar, never in the dining room - and we've always had a great experience. The guys working at the raw bar are super friendly, talkative and offered numerous suggestions on both food and drinks. I've always been impressed with their attentiveness as well. I can see it being a little on the pricey side - but so are most good restaurants nowadays. And the comment that was made about having to wait for your reservation - that just happens and shouldn't be a reflection of the restaurant! Restaurants use estimates as to how long an average table sits, and sometimes, the patrons stay longer than anticipated (more wine, more coffee, more talking). I'm sure you wouldn't want to be asked to leave/hurry up because another party was waiting for your table!
It's a great place and I think you should check it out!
Pros: Cool atmosphere, good oysters and wine, friendly bartenders

I eat lunch at Zest quite often and I always have enjoyable experiences there! The waitresses are just about as nice as they could be and, for the price, I don't think you can beat the food. The brie sandwich is my favorite! Lunch can get pretty busy, but I never really have to wait more than about 15 mins or so (if I even end up having to wait- just get there early) and the store has such cute stuff that it's usually hard not to buy something while we wait. If I know that I'm not going to have much time to sit and eat I'll call in an order to go since I work in the office park right across the street. It is very convenient and I still feel like I'm eating healthy!
Pros: being able to get food to go, friendly staff
