I recently went to 42nd Street Oyster Bar & Seafood Grill with a large group from my office. We received great service and everyone enjoyed the delicious food - even the guy allergic to seafood found something he could enjoy! I was feeling a little overwhelmed with all the fried food I'd eaten at the NC State Fair, so I opted for a dish of steamed shrimp and a side salad! Yummy! Of course I stuffed myself to the gills with 42nd's amazing hush puppies. They really are the best I've ever had. They have a full bar and an amazing dessert menu. Hey, even the bathrooms are nice. You will feel comfortable here on a fancy date, or if it's just you and the boys wanting to watch the game. If you go, make reservations as this place fills up fast even on a week night.

On nights when NCState is playing in a varsity sport you would be hard pressed to find a place to sit or stand in sammys...it is the ultimate place to watch any NC State sport being player. beyond that, they have poker nights taht can be a lot of fun, and wing night which is a regat way to get out and get fed without spending a lot of money. Predominatly college crowd, so if you dont like hanging out aorund twenty somethings...dont go.

Mitch's is the epitome of a Hillsborough Street institution - as many things have changed, it remains. Mitch's is a great bar to hit on a weekend night, but also a great place for the weekdays too. I particularly like the chili - very hearty! - and it's perfect washed down with a beer. The waitstaff is friendly and the atmosphere is absolutely collegiate bar. Everything they serve in a bowl is so good I've never ventured outside of it, but I've heard the other options are great and there's even fresh lemonade (or is it limeade?) for those not in the mood for beer.

The Pour House is a club thats a bar, thats a club, thats a bar. really it depends on what day of the week it is. Sometimes there is a cover, sometimes there is a band. most of the time there is a band. 50% of the time there is a cover. I have really enjoyed going here, even though ym review is slightly confusing. This is a good place to see good small semi-no name bands for not a lot of money.

I have always liked going to this bowling alley. Its the cleanest and largest in the raleigh area, and has a lot of different leauge options for bowlers who want to play. They have tons of leanes, as long as you dont show up on a leauge night you can almost always immediatly get a lane and start bowling.

I like to drink wine, I just dont know much about it. the waiters at vin will help you out, and you can try a lot of different things since they sell wine by the glass. the prices are pretty high, but the resturant is rather upscale, and the wine is absolutly fantastic. This is great for a high class night out on the town. I wouldnt reccommend everyone visit at least once.

Over 200 different beers and girls in short skirts serving them t you, really what more could you hope for from a bar? the Fl;ying Saucer is one of Raleighs greatest assets beer-wise. All 80 of their drafts are $2.50 on Mondays so tahts a good day to go check them out if you ahven't already. The food is decent as far as bar food is concerned as well.

I hadn't been to The Village Draft House in a few months before last week. Last week, I think I went there 4 times. It just seemed like that was where my group of friends ended up. This is an excellent location for larger groups, or smaller ones. There is a stellar menu of food, typical bar fare but tasty! They also have a decent selection of beer available.
