First off, I'm an older bride with a few extra pounds on me and I was open to any style of dress and really appreciated the attention and advice that Judy and her staff (Donna) were able to give me. Judy had a great selection of dresses for my size (14 - 18) and I must have tried on a dozen before coming around again to the one I first tried on.
Judy's shop is just my style. It's a small, independent shop where you're not a number. In this economy, I'd much rather give my business to a local shop.
My MOH and I had a blast. Judy had great ideas for modifications to the dress I eventually bought. It could have been a stressful occasion, but we rolled out of there relaxed, laughing and with one less thing to do... find a dress.

As a younger shopper I am usually treated, not as a valued costumer, but a child looking through her mothers things. At Stephen Leigh, however, I was treated with respect and true friendliness. As long as I live within distance Stephen Leigh is my jeweler.
Pros: good parking, great value for quali, excellent service

Cliffords Flowers is definitely one of the best florists in Boston. The flowers last a LONG time and they don't charge big bucks like some of the 'trendier' name brands. Their local specials are a good deal too.

If you have never tried the New England phenomenon of candlepin bowling, Olindys is the best spot to learn. You'd be suprised how addictive candlepin bowling can become and it is good for you.
Basically Olindys offersa less rushed, friendly atmosphere that is not packed with young teens that well, have no respect for others and don't care what spews from their mouths or how their actions impact others. The other bowling lanes across the river have armed guards, so that says a lot about Olindys no gangstas allowed clientel.
It is kind of throw back to the 70's with a less than updated atmosphere but the electronic scoring makes it a no-brainer for a fun, economical and great night for the family or a date.
There are some great specials on Wednesday night to boot.
Olindys is a Quincy gem.

Hancock Furniture has a great selection of a variety of furniture, and the staff are so friendly. They spent so much time talking to me about how my house was arranged that they really made me think about what furniture would be the best fit. They walked me through a room arrangement and we played with different grouping ideas and arrangements as well. It was cool to think about other ways of grouping my room, because I came in with one idea but left with many others. They are professional and know what to do to make a room stand out and fit your personality.
