As a customer of both the Kagawa and Fuji restaurants in Quincy, I find them both to be acceptable in terms of food quality. There are differences between the 2, most notably for d????cor and atmosphere. I do find it disturbing that some would choose to shamelessly flame the Kagawa and then state that the Fuji is so much better. I can assure you that this is not accurate. When assessing the accurateness of the 2 reviews here, consider that there are 2 Fuji restaurants in Quincy, one in the Wallaston section (the original) and one in Quincy center. The original is pretty deficient in atmosphere and d????cor while the Quincy center location would be more to ones liking if you are into TV monitors in the bathrooms and like flashy accoutrements. While the 2 restaurants are not owned by the same person or families, (as the original owners of the Fuji then opened another restaurant using the street number after Fuji to create a ??????new?????? name?) I personally find the food quality much better at the Wallaston site.

We have been to Kagawa many times in the last few months.....the sushi here is the best on the South Shore....granted, there isn't much good sushi on the South Shore. Teh hand-rolled Spider (Soft shell crab) is incredible. Service is friendly and prompt. The place is spotless. May not be as hip as some of the places in town but there's plenty of parking and the food is awesome!
Pros: great food...parking ...service
Cons: ambience is a bit bland

Kagawa restaurant is an impeccably clean, friendly & quiet atmosphere. Top service polite and accommodating wait staff. Delightfully fresh food some elegantly spiced. I have gone to Kagowa for years and I'm NEVER disappointed! The sushi is fresh, made well and they will even make it to your specifications. I highly recommend Kagawa to anyone who loves Japanese sushi and a nice atmosphere, they even have private rooms where you may be served in traditional Japanese style while sitting on the floor. May I suggest the Kagawa Marki a delight blend of different tastes, bound to entice your pallet also the vegetable tempura light and cooked to perfection.
(Just for the fun of it we went to Fuji the other night, with some other friends who suggested we try something new. Well to say the least I was not impressed with the food, loud atmosphere or cafeteria style setting as well as the inexperienced inattentive young female wait staff. The food was good though I would not go back a second time)
Kagawa in my estimation is a better bet all around.
Kagawa also has take out and delivery
Kagawa gets my 5 star rating for sushi on the So. Shore
Pros: Parking in rear, Great fresh sushi, nice ambience and lighting, fantastic service, impeccably clean
Cons: rear enterance needs to be spruced up a little sanded and salted better in the winter

I've been to Kagawa twice. I have to admit the sushi is very fresh compare to some of the sushi restaurants in Boston. However, out of those two times at Kagawa, they charged me about $10 more in my debit card as tips when I already left them cash on the table. The first time they charged me literally $10 more and returned the money a week later. The second time I did not see any refunds. I think this is a very unorganized and it's very unfair to me as a customer who's paying all these extra money because of their mistakes. I will not go back to this restaurant despite of the fresh sushi. I think there will be other places in Boston with the equavilant qualities but a much more professional. I guess my only advice is that bring cash! Lots of cash because this place is expensive.

I dont' know what the other reviewers are talking about. The sushi here is the freshest you'll find both in Quincy and in Boston and at a better price. The service is above par. You're seated quickly, brought your beverage, alcoholic or virgin and giving the best knowlegable advice on ordering sushi and/or saki. For great fresh food, service and atmosphere, Kagawa is the way to go. I've eaten lots of sushi in Boston, Quincy and other states and Kagawa is right there with the best of them.
Pros: Freshness, service, knowledge
Cons: parking
