Nice decor and service, great views, very good quality seafood and overall a reliable experience. I actually hated the baked, stuffed filet of sole I ordered there, but it was my own fault for ordering it. I guess I had expected them to do something fun or interesting with it, but this isn't that kind of restaurant. A good place to take the parents or grandparents (or be taken by them).

Hemenway's in Providence, RI, is the premiere seafood restaurant in the state. The menu, which is published weekly, has a wide variety of seafood dishes along with an upscale atmosphere along the Providence River for a great view of Providence's Waterfire nights during the summer. While prices are fairly high, the ambiance and food quality make it worth a visit.

For fantastic seafood in Providence, Hemenway’s is the place to go. Located alongside the Providence riverfront, this restaurant is spacious with high ceilings. On nights with Water Fire, patrons from some table can enjoy a spectacular view of the river. Although a bit expensive, the restaurant offers fresh seafood with live lobsters and an oyster bar that could satisfy even the strongest of shellfish cravings. For people who don’t like seafood, the menu also has meat and chicken selections. Some favorite and delicious dishes are the pan-fried calamari appetizer and the Poppasquash oysters.
