I took my son-in-laws' jeep wrangler into the shop a couple of weeks ago. Last year he hit the off ramp and did some damage to it. While he was away visiting his mom and dad in Indiana (just home from Iraq), I took his jeep in to get it fixed. It wouldn't go into 2nd gear. The shop put it up on the rack, and determined, free of charge, that there probably wasn't anything wrong with the transmission, that the frame was interfering with the stick shift. I took it to a body shop (auto body excellence) which is in the same pkg lot, and they got the frame squared up. Low and behold, the gears shifted perfectly when the frame was fixed. Poway transmissions didn't charge a nickel for the diagnosis, and even took the car over to the body shop for me....When and if I ever need a transmission shop in the future, I know who I will choose, and recommend. I own a 1998 Mazda 626 -- a model year with known transmission problems. I bought it used and within weeks had to take it in for a rebuild (This first rebuild was not done by Poway Transmission) 13 months later, the tranny died again, and this time I took it to Poway. They repaired it quickly and it ran like a dream...for 13 months again! I took it back to them, and they honored the one year warranty, even though it was a month out of warranty. How's that for service? They were polite are helpful throughout. Strongly recommend.

Well, when i took my old car here because I *thought* there was a transmission problem, the staff was nice and ready to help. He told me to leave the car there, and they would call in a few days. Well, the next day i got a call. It wasn't the transmission, but rather a blown head gasket, and they could not fix it. The mechanic gave me a list of places that could repair it, and told me what the average cost would be. This was very nice of them, and i appreciated it very much. I would send anyone here who needs transmission work or the like done on their vehicle.
