My precious 10 year old IrishWolfhound, "Stretch", passed away & I took a cast of his paw print in to be fired. It took me 8 weeks to have the heart to go pick it up. In the intrim they moved from Bainbridge Island to Poulsbo.
After I tracked them down to Poulsbo to pick up Stretch's paw print
they told me they called me several times and they insisted I left it there for more than 4 months (the period of time they claim to hold responsibility for your piece). I rec'd one call to which I said it was still too soon emotionally and the girl understood & said it was ok. Anyway, when I went to pick it up after looking for a long time & not finding it the clerk finally called the owner at home and she said it was broken by some little kid. Sorry....... Too bad for you.........
This is when she said I was called several times & left it more than 4 months. That was NOT true. I know the exact day Stretch passed away! I think it horrible and terrible that they did not keep a memorial piece away from little kids to drop and break. I think they should have saved me the broken pieces. I think they should have called me & been honest about what happened. I think
they should not have lied and said I left it for more than 4 months! It is NO way to run a business and I tell every one I can about my sad unfortunate experience with this
place! They broke my heart!
Sincerely,
Barbra Boiser-Sax

This is a great way to relax and tap into your creativity. It is a fun place to go and experiment and try new things. Although it is not cheap it is a neat activity especially for kids. I took my stepdaughter there and we had lots of fun picking out things to paint and trying all the supplies out. The staff is great and very helpful and informative. We were beginners and had lots of questions and got all the help we needed. There are a variety of items to choose from and also a wide range of prices. There are dishes, platters, picture frames, boxes, figurines, and all kinds of other ceramic to choose from. The bisque or 'green' ceramic is dried and cleaned and ready to paint. You just choose the paint and glaze you want and use the brushes, stamps or sponges provided and create your own masterpiece. When you are done you give your item to the staff who will fire it for you and you can come and pick up your finished work in about a week. We didn't get too extravagant but we did have a lot of fun and both have a keepsake to remember our experience. It is a great activity to work in with a nice lunch and browsing the stores in downtown Poulsbo. I will definitely go there again.

There are a lot of pottery painting options to choose from at Dancing Brush, but they seemed to be steep in price for my taste. I took 2 of my kids and they painted a cup and saucer set for Mother's day and they turned out well. The supplies were good, the quality about what you would expect from any paint and run type place. A good experience but too pricey for us to do it again.

Dancing Brush is a fairly typical ceramics painting studio. The bisque ware is priced on par with most other ceramics painting studios, and the selection is fairly average. The tables are nice, most have room for about 4 people. They do birthday parties fairly frequently, so if you don't wish to be surrounded by screaming 9-year-olds, it might be best to call ahead and ask if a birthday party is scheduled.

This is a great place to go in the cutest section of Poulsbo. My mom took me here for my birthday one year and we enjoyed picking out the style of ceramic dishes we wanted and then painting away. We picked up our fired dishes a few days later. Mine did not turn out well, but that had to do with my painting. I also picked up a big platter and several paints and had people at my wedding sign it.

This has got to be one of the funnest places around! It is a ceramics and glass studio where you can create your own fused glass design or paint one of the numerous types of ceramics available. You can also bring in your own ceramic, but the selection they have there is pretty good. The basic concept is you pick a piece that you want to paint (it can be a plate, cup, platter, mug, piggy bank, tile or etc....). They have stamps and design cards or you can design your own. Then you paint away! Once done painting, you take it to the back where it will be glazed and fired and then you come back in a few days to pick up your masterpiece!
They also offer party packages for kids and group rates. They also have scheduled ceramic parties where you can come in and paint with a whole bunch of other folks and there are drawings for free items and studio time.
This is a great place to take kids and family and spend some time!
